I think this is what's known as being extremely optimistic, to the point of bordering on the ridiculous!! If you are a betting man Paddy Power will give you 17-1 for that score.

As I am not a Spurs supporter how can it be "optimistic"? :)) It may be a trifle unrealistic but (a) Tottenham are gradually getting their act together and (b) Fulham are in a bad way....

I agree with SimonM, I've got it at three-nil but I hope it's four just so we can ram your words back down your throat Atila The Smug Gooner. Fulham have looked poor all season and it's just got worse for them and Spurs are definitely improving. Anyway, we'll see won't we.

Come On You Spurs!

Truth hurts.

Does it?! >:D<

I'm sorry, but when I saw the Pompey and Spurs results today, the first thing I thought of was this forum. This is why I NEVER post results for my team and have a pop at the others. Always comes back to bite you on the arse.

Come on Atila hold your hands up, the rest of us have to.

Annoyed me the way Wenger moaned because Pompey didn't let them play their game... If I'm in a boxing match and I know a guy is going to totally outclass me at boxing, then I'm going to get inside and try to rough him up, because funnily enough I'm not there to further his career, I want to win for my own career.

* coughs *

I spend a lot of time agreeing with non-Arsenal fans on here but to single out Wenger as someone who "moans" because the other team didn't want to play..? I mean, you're not wrong Keef but if I had Rafa as a manager I wouldn't be quick to bring up other managers as excuse-finders...

Wenger was correct in his analysis as far as it went but there is equally something wrong with the Arsenal first 11 at the moment - there is an argument to give the "2nd" 11 a run in the lague to freshen things up for us I feel

I'm inclined to agree with that statement

Not sure if actual, you know, evidence would back it up, mind... he does have some history on this

Plus his humiliation of Lehman has been pretty public (and deserved)

No thanks. I'm sure normal service for Spuds will be resumed not too far in the near future. I' sure all Spuds fans are delighted now old Lead boots King is back. No doubt he wiil revive their hopes of a top 4 finish. As for winning by a 4 goal margin, let Spuds make hay while the sun shines. We at the Arse are used to our side producing such performances season after season. >:D<

I see pool managed to beat the mighty Derby with a fearsome display ( or should that be a flukely lte goal off of SG's shin?) Poor performance from the mighty Arse, but still another 19 games to go. Watching the West Ham game in the Magdala yesterday afternoon, as I hadn't been in there for many, many years. I was hugely dsappointed. The interior decor is sterile beyond belief. I digress, as I was watching the game, a couple who had a babe in arms and a toddler with them, they allowed said toddler to pick up the candles in the firplace and drop them a few times, to which the dad could just about bring himself to say anything to the child that what he was doing was wrong. And the mother was breast feeding the baby in full view of the whole bar. Now, I,m not a prude and I understand it may be totally natural, but so is urinating and crapping, and you don't see people doing that in full view of punters drinking in a boozer. On the upside the Lodon Pride was good and the bar staff seemed friendly enough.

I shall continue to ridicule overly optimistic scores as and whe the need arises, even if they include those Pool supporters, who seem to take some perverse pride in trying to slag off Wenger, who spends a fraction of the amount Rafa spends and has his players playing in way that all other clubs envy. And please don't tell me Rafa never complains because he does. Still I'm sure you're looking forward to playing Inter. Come on you gooners!!!!!:))

I bow to your superiority in all these departments, Oscar Wilde. I have my opinion, as you have yours. You are entitled to yours as I am to mine. I thank you.

Pool were not great against Derby, although Torres' goal was class. We did put a few past Pompey the other day though ;-)

Being fair to Arse, Pompey have held Liverpool, Man U and Arsenal at home now.

I think you'll see above that I do admit that Rafa complains, but don't ever say Wenger doesn't. Oh, and he has spent big in the past, and if the funds were always made available to him, I think he would regularly.

Normally I don't wish other teams any ill, but you Atila make me want Arsenal to lose, simple as that. I think you seem a good fella, and I'm pretty certain you're being a wind up merchant on here, but to be honest it's worked on me.

Still, Arsenal are ahead of my team, so I have to take it. Never thought I'd be wishing for a smug Man U fan to come on here and give you some back though :-S

RE The Mag, It is a bit souless in there, but I do like the screens, you can see one from pretty much wherever you are in the bar.

Ha ha brilliant. Cheer up Atila, you never know - you might bump in to one of us in the Magdala one day.

Liverpool did, on Saturday what Utd and Arsenal have done quite a few times this season. When we thump teams its because they were crap and when we get a late goal its because we have been very lucky (well according the pundits anyway). I seem to remember the late goal winner/equaliser happening on a few occasions this season not only to Utd but also Arsenal. I believe that is often how trophies are won.

Answer this honestly Atila - do you really think you'll win the league this season? I'm not trying to goad or take the piss, I'm just interested :)

Dear lady Annasfield, in response to you non pissing taking, non goading, question, I think we have a very good chance of winning it. I realy think Manure are too reliant on the show pony Ronaldo, who hasn't played well against us, Pool, or any of the top 4 for that matter. Like I said 19 games to go, only half of the season gone. I do fancy our chances.

You know what, I wonder if SimonM was so confident of his 4 goal margin, that he put a bet on it. Be honest now SimonM, did you back up your prediction with a cheeky punt?

I agree re Ronaldo. When we played Manure the other week, I'd totally forgotten that he was on the pitch as we just didn't allow him to play.

I hate to say this, but I can really see it being Utd's season. I'd actually rather that the Gooners won it, as Utd are about to match our league record. :( Like Keef though, part of me has gone off Arsenal for the very reasons he has mentioned.

    • “What do councils spend all the money on?” Is, in my view, one of the most profoundly emblematic of our times  we go about our lives, backed up by councils and governments and complain they aren’t needed  reform win elections based on “we’re gonna go in and slash all the waste!” Only to later admit there effectively isn’t any oh and by the way we need to increase council tax   Now all we have to offer is racism and ineptitude sorry about that  https://www.gbnews.com/money/reform-elon-musk-doge-failed-savings So where does the money go? On a multitude of services - but the increasingly aged population and the care provision required is a large part of it  the government could give councils more money to avoid council tax rises  - but the we would have to pay more in jewels taxation  and as a country we tend to pay less than other similar countries  so we end up with an expensive mend and make do approach  I don’t see any political parties offering a solution   Starmer is obviously lacking in many areas but he is the result of a hostile media and a reluctant population willing to hear truths  (wait until we hear how much we will need to increase defence spending by in the coming years) If a party stopped pretending all the money was wasted but published a list of costs, projections and proposals that wasn’t gutted to suit the landscape of needing to not bemonstered by the press or deemed too expensive by voters I would be very interested      can’t see that happening tho  (also worth reminding ourselves of all the brexiters who said things like “I don’t care how much it costs   I don’t care if I lose my job  it’s about taking back control!” And yet now we find them complaining about increasing costs. As they always will complain about everything  because it’s always someone else’s fault)
    • I wouldn't be going all the way to Dobbies  just to take flowerpots! 😀 It's a very good garden centre with a wide range of well kept  plants and helpful staff, at least it was on the only occasion I've visited it, last year!
