I was thinking more the tabloid headline when The Belgrano was sunk.

At the time, whilst a serving officer in the Army I felt that was a rather gratuitous and ill-conceived headline. Having lost several colleagues in the conflict, and a roommate who was badly burned at Bluff Cove, I still find it offensive.

If only we hadn't tried to recapture the Malvinas for the glory of Argentina.

;-) just kidding.

I was just out of Sandhurst at the time. Not joking about Bluff Cove though.

You are not alone citizen. I often say it, and I don't care. Cheerio! There, said it again.

And I'm not sure the family will tolerate another bastard.

    • Steve used to joke that my old VW Golf kept them in business. I've got a more reliable car now so maybe that's why they are closing. Sad day.
    • Is Dell Autos closing down completely or just moving? For whatever it's worth, for MOTs I've had good recent experience with The Test Centre in Deptford. They only do MOTs so they don't have any particular incentive to fail you and they usually have same day appointments. Open 7 days a week and late. https://www.thetestcentre.co.uk/our-test-centres/deptford-branch/ Obviously you would still need a "normal" garage to do servicing and repairs etc.
    • So what is the issue? You want compensation for the loss of value, or you want to expedite the matter?
    • No. What happened? I actually thought, considering it was what we used to call Guy Fawkes Day last night, the loud noises from  fireworks ended remarkably early. About 9pm? Maybe I just fell asleep and didn't hear any later ones. Do people actually burn Guys any more? Apart from at places like Lewes, where I believe they still have Bonfire Societies and burn effigies of various political figures etc.
