My girlfriend and I were talking about shops and businesses on Lordship Lane (and ED in general) - she was saying that it pretty much perfect and she couldn't really think of other shops etc to add in that would make it a lot better.

I disagreed! I think it's lacking something in terms of shops and businesses, but can't put my finger on what.

Thought I'd ask people's opinions so I can steal the good ones and win the argument!

What shops/businesses do people think ED is making that would make it better?

Werdna101 - My husband was looking to buy a white shirt (to wear under a suit) recently. He was convinced there would be a shop on Lordship Lane which would have one! He got one in Sainsbury's on Dog Kennel Hill in the end - not the best shirt ever, but good for the purpose and very reasonably priced. I would guess that people who work in the City buy their shirts up there, not locally. There is White Stuff for casual men's clothes.

Yep, it's gone. I believe it was called TBS Menswear.

In years to come, we might found out who - or which countries - has an interest in testing what happens when you post socially disruptive content online about fake events... In the meantime, thank you to our local teachers and other school workers, police community support officers and police officers. My commute happens to take me past a bunch of schools at dropoff/pickup times, and I noticed a much greater and more visible presence on streets outside/near schools than normal. Annoying as it must have been to be distracted from other important duties, I really value and appreciate them looking out for the kids. https://uk.news.yahoo.com/school-wars-trend-red-blue-london-police-latest-142328025.html https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/jan/01/birmingham-new-year-fireworks-display-centenary-square-police
