Congratulations to all the forumites expecting new arrivals to their families in the winter months.

This thread is primarily for chats and arranging meet-ups, as well as sharing tips on dealing with the challenges of looking after newborns in the coldest months, or where to buy the most appealing woolly jackets with bear ears..

The months are only intended as a guideline - if you're expecting a December baby for example but you'd prefer to come to the Autumn baby meet-ups, or if anyone would like to come to more than one set of meet-ups then please go ahead. Equally, many parents expecting winter babies may not yet be ready to discuss their pregnancies, so please join in as and when you feel like it. Everyone is welcome, the more the merrier.

Cheers

FRM

Hello everyone

I am expecting baby number 2 at the end of January, and would love to get in touch with ladies having babies around the same time, as the majority of my old NCT class have left/are leaving the area. I have noticed a couple of other people expecting around this time on other threads, in particular the 12 week scan thread, so hopefully there are a few of us around!

hi everyone, I can do 7th but might have to have toddler with me! Hubby works saturdays and some sundays so would depend if I can get sis-in-law to come over to have 2yr old. Did you guys want toddler free time or did you just not want to bring your own? Im ok with coming with her if you guys are but will try to get a sitter for an hour or so.

    • In case anyone is renovating or stripping out an old kitchen, I am looking for a base kitchen unit or carcass to house an oven for a temporary set up kitchen.   Also looking for a run of worktop at least 180 cm long if anyone is disposing of something like this, I would be happy to collect.   thanks   Mila
    • Big recommendation for Stephen Viccary who has created a magnificent bathroom for us. Quality of work is absolutely top notch. We couldn't be happier - see pics.  Stephen is considerate and tidy meaning working from home during the work was fine (some noise - obviously, it is a demo and installation after all. He does not work on multiple jobs, does a full days work and does ALL the work himself - Tiling, plumbing, lighting (including lighting on a motion sensor under the vanity and in the shower niche - for night time visits 😉), he even changed the door architraves, sorted the badly cracked ceiling and did all the paint work. A full end to end service. Stephen's number - 07941 266 145
    • Highly recommend Dulwich Eco Gardening.  When he came to quote Saied said he’d give our garden back so we could decide what we do next.  Under two weeks of hard work from Saied and Mo and we have the garden back and can see paving I’d forgotten about. Not only did Saied remove our very overgrown greenery. Nature had taken over. He also took back to our fence line overgrown ivy, apple and pear trees and and dealt with a neighbours bamboo that had invaded our garden.  We are now going to get quotes for what we do next so those quoting will be able to see the space.  Saied has suggested someone to quote and will be coming back when he does in case he has any questions or they can work together.  I thought Saied would be a good choice and he was. Quotes from others didn’t leave me with confidence for the end result. That was never a concern with Saied.
