I am not working this sat so happy about that and monday is my day off so got a nice long weekend! Out for a meal and seeing old work friends tomorrow after work. Nothing else planned.

Going to be an auntie very soon! Just waiting to hear now, could be any day now! The due date was today but no sign as yet.

Re-read what I wrote. I wasn't being nasty just making a suggestion. It was a bit of friendly advice. There's no need to start a new thread that is the same as the old one. They tend to get deleted otherwise. Just update it. And by the way I wished you a good weekend.

Yes fairy, that wasn't nasty - you're a little new around here I think, but you might need to develop thicker skin - if you think Jah's nasty (and he's a massive softie), you don't want to encounter others on a bad day.

I'm going to a disco at the zoo. How about you, you, you? I'm hoping they're going to play the funky gibbon, the lion sleeps tonight, crocodile rock and tiger feet.

Mac why do that? It wasn't in the least bit nasty. Don't be a shit stirrer it doesn't become you. Have a good weekend.

I'm working, but only this afternoon. I had a weekend yesterday - went to Tate Britain to see the Romantics and Rude Britannia Exhibition, then wandered up to Whitehall to see flypast. But this weekend working a bit and pottering around a bit, but - yaknow - happy. Clockhouse via a stroll across the park is a must, though.

I quite like a Friday thread as it goes.

This weekend has so far involved a lie in, a walk through Sydenham Hill Woods and a couple of pints in the Dulwich Woodhouse. Now I know pubs are in general more family friendly these days but jeez, at a guess there were around 5-6 couples / small groups of adult without kids, and the rest of the pub was entirely families with kids.

No doubt I will avidly not watch the X Factor tonight (ahem), tomorrow I have no plans. Bliss.

    • I don't know how it works now but my late parents had little money when they were retired (just state pension and they rented their flat) and they used to take their cat to the Blue Cross (In Victoria if I remember correctly) where treatment was free for those who could'nt afford a private vet. I sincerely hope similar is available still because for many elderly their pet is their main source of comfort and company.
    • In a couple of places locally, I have come across this. I am fairly sure that they attempt to do the bill in their head. If you just say , “no, I think it’s x” they start again and get to an agreeable number, or find a calculator. I don’t think it’s a malicious attempt to swindle people. Just not great arithmetic.
    • There are excellent charities like the Greenwich Wildlife Network who will help if you report any concerns with local wildlife. Foxes are wonderful creatures who had been forced into our town and cities and are just doing their best to survive, we should take care of them when we can.
    • Like I thought… prob like that for most of the day.. especially after people had walked their dogs, with friends, relatives  kids…
