:'( I hang my head in shame at my appalling lack of contact, but you know I was so excited to have my little Aussie chick here & we crammed so much travelling, visiting etc into 9 weeks I hardly had time to log on. Sooooooooo how is everyone, whats the goss, who's new, whats the go? Will anyone still talk to me & invite me back in?

Hi giddy - funnily enough I mentioned you to Mockney Piers the other week and we both concluded that the 2 of you had imploded when you finally met after all of the expectation

Don't think there is a John Smith that posts on here tho - that a facebook friend?

GG, Where to begin? Well, let's just say, don't send any children you have to a certain piano teacher (*narrows eyes, nods head*), remember it's best not talk about reiki too much, if anyone mentions prams and buggies, affect an airy indifference and for your sake, don't let people know that you actually had to FLY HERE FROM DOWN UNDER. Remember all those, and you'll sail through this forum. Nero

OMG you're alive!!! I am so relieved. I thought you had been sucked into a parallel smug-married-couples universe!! So all well on the gf front?

Not much news... I climbed a mountain (Kili) and am very proud (and still tired). Also I laughed so much on reading adverse comments made about White Stuff on this forum that I promptly took myself over there and spent an ABSOLUTE FORTUNE last weekend.

Drink sometime? Mikese22 would be up for it... could try and drag some of the others out but they have been strangely reticent.

    • When did it change? I had no idea!  Apologies for giving wrong information!
    • If it is time to buy a replacement bike for one of your children you could try the Bike Project that are doing a 20 % sale on some of their refurbished bikes, including a number of children's ones.   General advice on buying for kids.  No more than 8 gears.  You don't need suspension or other gizmos.  Don't buy mail order.  Don't buy Apollos from Halfords, so heavy, poor build and a pain to work on.   You get what you pay for but there are always reasonably priced second hand ones, including on this website. Decent models include Boardman, Ridgeback, Isla, Squish.  Frog are popular and OK but the later models moved from a shimano trigger shift to their own, which are bad.  And they have now ceased production.  The reach was too long too.  Woom are fantastic but very expensive.  Go for trigger (thumb and finger) when they go for multiple gears not the grip (twist) gear shifters. BMX bikes are not necessarily good on the road. Do ask your primary school about free training (Bikeability)  You can also try bike clubs where you pay a subscription and change the bike as the kids get older. https://bikeclub.com/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=1955313524&gclid=CjwKCAjw687NBhB4EiwAQ645dmN_e5OD3ycc60VCVO6D9DNEv7zkMjzy4j6_m2Nf9PMNaPJ86f8O7BoChxEQAvD_BwE Pick up and compare different models in the shop.  I prefer independents but you can get a decent deal at Halfords, Decathlon and the like. Correcting my comment on Frog, whilst they have gone into administration they are still manufacturing and have relocated production from China to Wales.  Good stuff.
    • Penguin 68 is correct. The post office in LL is a franchise.
