Watched upto episode 7 last night. Have surfaced for food and my EDF fix, and am off again to start on episode 8 before I get dragged out of my pit by my daughter later - I have to do family stuff!

One thing I have to say tho is - Why, Omar? Now you have a buckethead. Please grow it back!!!

Finished series 4 last night. OMG what a waste of life.

I know it's only make believe but how can anyone not want to change things after seeing this!

Their education system, political system and police are all driven by stats and test results, same as in the UK and the results of this are the same here as shown in The Wire.

SeanMG, how can you not want to be a politician and fight for change after watching the mind blowing series 4???

hmmm, yes a quick check done on Amazon: March. I may have to buy the R1 copy from the States.

Yeah - I was done with the first series in a matter of days. It's just so compelling and rarely here's a TV show with real characters, not just mouths for 2-D plot devices. I love the way in some episodes seemingly nothing happens only for events to come crashing down later on, the look into people's f-cked up personal lives and the mistakes we all make. There's almost nothing like this in other shows, except maybe as vehicles to explore this week's "issue". And it's funny ...

Keef I'm a recent convert (thanks to the EDF). It's gritty realism at its best if only for lines like this:

Proposition Joe: I heard your end would be covering my fee.

Stringer Bell: Your fee?

Proposition Joe: Yeah, I'm like a marriage counselor. Tell the man he oughta bring the bitch some flowers every once in a while. Tell the bitch she gotta suck some cock every once in a while. That sort of shit.

[Omar arrives]

Proposition Joe: Speaking of cocksuckers...

[to Omar]

Proposition Joe: I'm Proposition Joe. You fuck with me, I'll kill your whole family.

Trouble is, I'm trying to watch it with Mrs LL, so finding a gap between feeding baby LL and catching up on sleep means we're only up to episode 2, season 1:-S

    • Thanks Sue.  No the car just drove on.  We don't know if they noticed.  We were driving behind.  We were just glad we could be with the cat, and take him to the vet, rather than leaving him there 😞
    • Certainly the infamous (and mythical) SE London cat killer turned out to be foxes attacking dying and dead cats injured by cars, but fox: cat encounters do appear to happen, even where cats are victorious. Fox: adult humans less so. At least where foxes are the aggressors.
    • That was very kind of you to take the cat to the vet. Did the car not stop?
    • This is a bit outside our area, but I'm posting in case .... Last night (Sat.20 Dec), around 10.30, we saw a cat hit by a car in St Norbert Road, SE4.  We took him to the out of hours vet in Beckenham, where they confirmed that he had died.  They will see if he is microchipped, and contact the owner if so.  They were very kind.   He was a lovely cat, grey and white.  He must have died very quickly.  So sorry to be the bearer of bad news 😞 The vet is Medivet in Beckenham, tel: 0208 650 2003.
