*Bob* just threw his balls over his shoulder and said what everyone suspects which is that as Brian is such a diamond and she so obviously likes him then her only plausible reason for not getting involved is that she's a bit race shy.

It's not exactly Emily and the 'n' word but the accusation is now finally out there...

maybe they should seriously consider just dedicating a freeview channel to it next year. i totally agree that it clogs up channel 4 prime time but believe it or not it is still massively succesful. channel 4 seem to be creating new +1 channels left right and centre, they should just dedicate 2 months of c4+1 a year to 100% dedicated BB programming and leave c4 to the rest of us!

i cannot believe that they are evicting so many people in one final night. tonights chapter feels just like some mid series lull, not the one before the end. very strange ...

Jah, celebrity BB is being dropped, but sadly Endemol are contracted to make it until 2010, 3 more of the horror shows still to come.

Personally I was barely even aware it was happening this time, I only got sucked in once, but the "jade, have you been at the stupid pills again?" conversation actually almost made it worthwhile!!

C'mon folks.. there are more insidious things on the telly.

The ITV 'news', for example. Golf. Endless cookery programmes. Doing up you new home on the property ladder in the sun. Golf. Serial dramas which are based in a medical facility. The national lottery. Quiz shows. Britain's strongest man. Jamie Oliver ("delish'..!". Makeover shows. GOLF.

I could go on.

Totally agree with you there *Bob*. The telly is full of shite! Too many bloody soaps as well if you ask me. I'd like to see something like Play For Day brought back, dunno if you remember that of course but you'd usually get a good drama, well acted, thought provoking maybe and proper entertainment. Things like Nuts In May and Abigail's Party came from that. Brilliant stuff.

The problem with TV these days is 'money', 'imagination', 'talent' and 'bottle'. With all four elements in place, it's still possible for a mere British (or co-british) 'television programme' to be astoundingly good. Something like 'Band of Brothers' springs to mind. Which I suppose only goes to show how infrequently it happens.

With combinations of some elements, you can still get something worthy of a round of applause. Dragon's Den. BB (when it started). Wife Swap (ditto). The Apprentice. This Week.

Unfortunately there's no money to spend. It's very hard to come-up with anything genuinely 'different'. Lenny Henry's phone is still ringing - and less and less execs want to stick their necks out and take a chance on something.

And that's when you end-up with 80+ episodes of 'My Family'.

I was thinking of not watching Big Brother this year but I couldn't be arsed with all the associated showing off. Don't you get tired of telling people you aren't watching a nano-second of it?

It doesn't really ring true when people bang on about not watching it. Watch what you want but don't get virtuous about it.

I also like golf.

Alan.. Not watching BB is a badge of honour these days.

It means 'you're a better person' and implies that instead you spend the time improving yourself at evening classes or turning the box off and having a fulfilling conversation with your partner or building a replica of the Ark Royal out of matchsticks or checking-up on your elderly neighbours.

PS - sorry to hear about the Golf.

If it's any consolation I'm crap at golf.

Maybe I can claw back some credibility by missing tonight's final to get absolutely shit-stack leathered in any one of a multitude of East Dulwich pubs.

Wake up confused and covered in bruises only to realise I came home without my wheelchair...

As it happens, I won't be watching the final.. I've a birthday to attend.

My girlfriend and I once faked an Emergency-I've-Been-Called-Away-type-phone-call - at the farewell party of some folks who were going to live in New Zealand - so we could go home and watch the results of 'Pop Idol'.

Some things are just too important to miss.

    • I went online and, after crawling through lots of options, finally got to a page that allowed me to make a complaint that wasn’t to do with a generic problem. I explained that lots of people in and around SE22 are having irregular deliveries.
    • google 'legal mediation services property dispute" and look at the services available
    • That is the similar issue with Peckham Rye - the council have prioritised commercial interests over the community (residents and environment), and utterly shameless in doing so. For a council to be wilfully cirumventing legal ruling, is more than alarming. Their actions should always be transparent and beyond reproach, not shady and biased for particular commercial interest. It raises the question of where else they manipulate commercial interests and generally look to break rules.
    • I can't see it will ever be finally resolved, unfortunately. Although the local problems were made much worse due to the move of the Sylvester Road  delivery office to Peckham, Royal Mail has had issues ever since it was privatised. Whenever the local MP gets involved, things get a bit better temporarily, then they just deteriorate again. I hope I'm wrong, but there are similar postal delivery issues all over the country. I think there are currently discussions ongoing to change the delivery requirements which Royal Mail is supposed to adhere to for first and second class post. Silly question, but are you actually expecting letters? I haven't had any post for ages either, but I'm not expecting any! Much stuff these days is done by email or on apps. The East Dulwich delivery office is in Peckham, not West Dulwich?
