Sorry, I can't make Friday either - but I will be at the wooden circle playgroup this afternoon. Like BB I have rather given up on having a baby. In fact I am just coming round to thinking I'm not pregnant at all, and have just eaten a rather large amount of cheese this winter :)

But I could do Monday - again, assuming no Yaklet. If there are newborns around who need cuddling while toddlers are kettled I'm happy to volunteer!

Finally, I have a baby! After making me wait for 10 days, she didn't mess around when she finally decided to make her appearance. Very speedy labour resulting in water birth at home yesterday morning.

Look forward to catching up soon. Good luck to those that are still waiting.

Hooray for the new Bear Cub! The Yaklet made an appearance after 11 days similarly at speed.... born five past midnight after about 3 hours established labour. It's a good job we stuck with our home birth plan....Looking forward to meeting up wih the new arrivals soon, and best of luck for those waiting probably more patiently than I did!

Go out for dinner, eat icecream then sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep & sleep some more!

Yes BB how great we all managed a home birth in the end!

Hope you all manage to get out over the weekend, even if it's just in the garden

Your ahead of me and I am booked in for the 3rd!

It's all been rather hectic and Ive not been able to do all the prep Ive desperately been wanting to do until this week (we had building work done so have had very limited use of Kitchen and lots of brick dust!).

Anyway......... house now clean, carpets clean (still damp as I type), babies clothes, bedding and baby gym etc all washed. Just need to fill the freezer and pack bags. Was planning to use Mike (Bon3acre?)of Bellpepper fame but the website doesnt seem to be working so may have to attempt a cookathon (no mean feat with a 15mth toddler).

Ho hum.... all the important stuff done thankfully and although bags not yet packed I have my list (MUCH shorter than first time round!!)

I'm so very jealous as not due until the 15th May and feel huge!! Via Home birth.

Also had a bit of a moment today as although I have a 15 month old I haven't done much reading/prep and worried about having a new born at home!! I suppose it will all come back to me!!

Really look forward to meeting up with you all and the new babies :)

I was a bit worried there were no May babies :)

Does anyone wants to meet before having the babies? Or someone with their newborns?

Maybe next week at some point?

mrs f - I am so impatient now that I can't even sleep :)

ClareC - I wanted to book on the 3rd too but they told me there were already quite a few people booked for that day... I guess you were one of them. What was your due date?

alieh - A picnic sounds good but I guess if we want to wait for everybody to have their babies it might have to be end of May/ beginning of June, right?

How about a bumps and newborns picnic? I think we will be up for something on Thursday or Friday of next week- are others free then? I am of course assuming that this lovely weather will continue

Bb, the yaklet is a boy - 7'10" so totally, totally normal and healthy!

Thursday afternoon? We will look like impostors amongst all the new babies though - baby snowboarder is nearly 8 wks old and weighed in at 13.5lb at his 6 wk check this week...must have gold top milk....! Where can we go that is toddler containable?

By scan 7th May but I'm certain it's actually the 4th.

Waiting til the 3rd is a bit close for comfort given my daughter was born only 1 day after her EDD! My waters broke within half an hour of going to bed on the due date!

I'm up for meeting up on Friday, Thursday no good as I am having a pamper afternoon whilst I still can!

    • And from what I remember, she eventually cut the tea shop for a similar  reason to chandelier.  Chariot style buggies
    • Oh yes, it could have been about there, I can't remember exactly. At one point there seemed to be a load of pizza places opening on NCR. I vaguely remember the one we used to use was put out of business by another one which opened. Wasn't Grace and Favour's food offering more of a tea shop at the back of the actual shop? If memory serves the owner, whose name escapes me now, was one of the earliest people I know to move to Hastings. Which must now be crammed with South East Londoners 🤣

    • Hi Dogkennelhillbilly, You won't be aware that i proposed infill sites for housing in East Dulwich - the garages on Bassano Street and Henslowe that respectively became 1-4 Dill Terrace family houses and the 78, 80, 80A Henslowe Street family houses. These were council owned garages and it was frustrating how slow the council was to go from my idea to completion (roughly eight years). East Dulwich has some other vacant WW2 bomb sites I'm guessing that the private land owners have been sitting on.Owe for a land tax for vacant land.  WRT to the builders yard by East dulwich station. Southwark Council has an agreed policy the area should remain suburban 2/3 storeys maximum. But the approved scheme is 9 storeys of student accommodation. Very hard to put this genie back in the bottle. The council has recently publicly stated lower ratios of social housing will be required. I will be amazed if the developer doesn't submit another application now they have the 9 storeys approved but with significantly less social housing. The less social housing the higher the land values. The higher the land values the less social housing viability reports state are possible.  If we really want to increase home supply - Southwark have over 6,000 empty homes. Vancouver charges a low % of the value of empty homes and rapidly eased this problem. Parts of Wales have introduced under Article 4 planning permission is required for second homes seeing within 12 months a dramatic decrease in property prices. Southwark Council have Article 4 requirements - why not add this one? It takes National political will to solve this AND regional and local authorities such as the second home council tax premium and these being used promptly.
