Around noon today, an old lady was robbed in Iceland. Earlier while in the store, at the meat counter she was surrounded by a group of Indians, she said. Then just as she was about to leave. two of that group snatched her purse and ran out the door. THe lady was taken in the staff office. she was in her seventies with a sholley trolley. So be alert.

I've very rarely seen groups of Indian/Asian lads around here (causing trouble or otherwise).

And as Narnia points out, I don't think Iceland has a meat counter (it's a frozen food shop).

While any robbery is concerning, I'm not sure that the second/third hand info in the OP is to be taken seriously.

FHS, give the wo/man a break! The way you pounce on him/her like Angela Lansbury with a migraine is shaming. It's as if you are expecting, nay WANTING, the poster to be a crypto-racist just so you can be the first to jump up and down with your liberal knickers in the air (and yes, that is a Jonathan King reference, but I am not a pedlo, before you start.)

Stone the crows. Racism, bigotry, sniping. BORING! Aint we all been down this road too many times before?

I know. Let's all have a laugh instead.

AVOID wasting hot water by emptying the bath into a series of Thermos flasks and storing it until required again.

    • It wasn't an antique and bric-a-bac shop but an antique market with a number of different traders, the cafe supported all the dealers in bringing in custom, and was good enough to generate trade for them. It was Rodney Franklin's and his partners enterprise, he previously had an antique shop in Queenstown Road in Battersea. His late wife ran the cafe (she was a very fine actress, it was a 'resting' job).  It was on the corner of a junction on the left as you head towards Camberwell. And almost opposite, if memory serves at all, an MFI style furniture outlet.
    • i used to go there in the late 80's and '90s (?) the food was served cafeteria style and there was limited choice, but what there was alays tasted amazing!  The garden was an absolute paradise, you could sit in it to lunch in the summer!  i've tried to locate its site but Walworth Road has changed so much since then - does anyone remember the house number?
    • This is very true. For some people, not even just the elderly, their pet/s may be their most important companion.
