Meant for the lounge:-

I had my last ever birthday party when I was 18. Some people have one for their 21st. Ok.

Absolutely last forgivable birthday is 30th but I really don't know why you'd want to do it.

I can't stand the whole 'but you have to it's my birthday' attitude.

If you ever find yourself saying something to that effect then you should take a step back and give yourself a serious dressing down.

Agreed?

I hate the smug self satisfied 'it's my birthday' look on people's faces and the way they nurse their dregs waiting for their next birthday drink. Or worst of all when they sulk about someone not coming or the lack of cards or whatever.

If you really want to celebrate your birthday then you should take your Mum out. She did the hard part- and I don't just mean letting your Dad have a go on her...

TO be fair to Alan, I know what he is talking about. Most of us use it as today's excuse for a boozeathon but one or two people I know (including family members) really do take it upon themselves to grab a moment in the spotlight (which is ok) but make everyone feel like sh one t if they don't reeeally put themselves out (not so good)

Exactly right Sean.

My closest friends don't celebrate their birthdays.

My experiences of people who misbehave on their birthday are old friends, friends of friends and colleagues.

It's pretty much universal though.

If you organise your own birthday party then you are one of the people I mean....

    • Hi Does anyone have an electric keyboard they are looking to get rid of. It needs to be able to plug into the computer via USB connection, so she can do her composition for GCSE music. Thanks
    • Thanks TWB! I’m actually looking for an unwanted/unused small scratcher at the moment. Ideally something similar to the below
    • Gosh, calm down.. How about not getting so heated, and not eat for 24 hours with sips of water? Try it and you may, just may understand, starvation, no water. No meds at all even if you need them - hasten to add, don’t do it at all if you are medically dependent. In fact, why doesn’t ED - do this for half a day - say in Oct, when everyone has come back from enjoying their, hols, new term starting and as a community, we could all be 1.? Before, November, fireworks, etc.
