Open to Everyone reading this - EDF Drinks at the Phoenix (v1.0 georgia years)

Recommended Posts

Always nice to noobs Wilhelm

Should be noted that these are not necessarily the last last drinks - just the last ones to mark the end of the original organising commitee's reign (georgia and mike p)

Hopefully someone else will run with it in future

I've been in touch with the Phoenix again and I need to confirm to them about a reasonable amount coming early - I know many people have alread said they can, or given apologies if they can't come that early but as we are now close enough for people to be able to say definitely, can I have a fresh show of hands for those definitely coming at 6:30 - if I don't get 15 that early I'll have to nix the reserved space upstairs and we'll have to make do amongst the general populace. So - if you can't do that early, no need to repeat, just an "aye" if you can make 6:30 please

I shall defo come along, not been in absolute ages.... I'll aim to get there at 6:30 if i can get away from work early! hmmmm

Georgia i didn't even know you had handed in you notice on planning drinks!!! Sean are you now the organiser??

    • This week's edition of The Briefing Room I found really useful and impressively informative on the training aspect.  David Aaronovitch has come a long way since his University Challenge day. 😉  It's available to hear online or download as mp3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002n7wv In a few days time resident doctors -who used to be known as junior doctors - were meant to be going on strike. This would be the 14th strike by the doctors’ union since March 2023. The ostensible reason was pay but now the dispute may be over without more increases to salary levels. The Government has instead made an offer to do something about the other big issue for early career doctors - working conditions and specialist training places. David Aaronovitch and guests discuss what's going on and ask what the problem is with the way we in Britain train our doctors? Guests: Hugh Pym, BBC Health Editor Sir Andrew Goddard, Consultant Gastroenterologist Professor Martin McKee, Professor of European Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Mark Dayan, Policy Analyst, Nuffield Trust. Presenter: David Aaronovitch Producers: Caroline Bayley, Kirsteen Knight, Cordelia Hemming Production Co-ordinator: Maria Ogundele Sound Engineers: Michael Regaard, Gareth Jones Editor: Richard Vadon
