Sponsors (icons making the page appear incorrectly)

Can the little coloured sponsorboxes appearing on some pages be spread across the screen from left to right please?

is filling up half my screen with them one on top of each other!

Yes that shouldn't happen, it's something we introduced last night and so appreciate the feedback.

Please could you look at a page e.g. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/list.php?30 and hold the Ctrl key and press the F5 key and let me know if it still happens.

Also please could you let me know what browser and computer you are using e.g. Internet Explorer 7 and Windows XP. An easy way to do this is go to http://supportdetails.com/ and email it to [email protected]

Still ranged-right at my end even after Ctrl/F5. The Forum's pages are about 15% wider than my screen resolution - which is set to 1024 x 768.

I'm in the same boat PGC and annaj. On my shiny new home laptop it all looks fine (Windows 7 and Firefox) but at work (ancient desktop, running XP and Firefox) everything is ranged right and no sign of the ads.

Thanks Sean, Ive read it, but being a computer plank,its all foggy to me. Ive got an old computer compared with most, Do you think the picture will stay this way?

Not too sure - we know Admin is aware of it (a few people have it) but whether it can be sorted, I don't know

Various tweaks have fixed some things in recent days so I'd say it's ongoing

Hi, if you're seeing the adverts stacked on top of each other at the top of the screen the please refresh the page (press F5 on a PC), that will fix it.

As for the page being sat on the right hand side of the screen, it's something we have to look into. It's because the new 'containing frame' of the page is wider than your screen; in that frame is a blank column, the content column then the advert column. You people with a 1024pixel wide screen only see the first two columns, so it looks like is sat to the right.

Apologies for any inconvenience and I'm hoping we'll work out a fix for it

Using mac and flock and the page is still ranging to the right. Also using a pc and google chrome with the same 'problem'. Hope that helps.

OK, so we should have resolved the right alignment issue, if you still see the site aligned to the right please refresh the page (F5 on a PC).

Also there was a problem with the forum slowing down, this was because of a script that had to work out what section of the forum was showing before showing the ads. We have removed that script and, although the ads show in all sections of the forum it should be faster.

Just logged in to find the main frame ranged left with the ads stacked vertically to its right. The page width is fractionally larger than my screen resolution.

The site is now functional albeit somewhat lopsided.

For what it's worth, from an aesthetic point of view, I would favour a symmetrical layout wherein the adverts are arrayed horizontally across the screen at the top, middle or bottom (or even all three) with a centred main frame rather than the current asymmetrical design which looks a bit odd (to me).

I have an annoying glitch when I look at group pm's. The pm is pushed below the ads which are to the right with just white space where the pm should sit. It's only for pms sent to multiple recipients. Singel recipient pms sit where they should.

Viewing on me mobile (samsung wave through opera) looks really strange now, ads in the middle going down centrally and the thread lists are all squashed up instead of nicely stretched. Used to have to zoom in and out to navigate around the forum but not now... dunno if it's anything that can be changed or I shall have to stick with complaining about stupid smartphone apps... Using Bolt lite looks ok though *shrugs*
