EDF Xmas Drinks - Friday 10th December 2010 @ The Lodge

Recommended Posts

That kebab shop get FOUR STARS in terms of hygiene ratings! I checked - and was well surprised. I shall be going there more often LOL! Can someone tell me though, why oh why do I only ever crave kebab (wouldn't touch it at any other time) following EDF drinks? Weird.

Agreed that Jaws (adjudicator of longest tongue contest - which I believe you won LB ) has some nice moves.

Thanks for organising Weegee. And thanks for providing the usual escort-home service. Nice that Franster made it this time.

Really good to see everyone on such good form, especially surfbobby whom many of us hadn't seen since the Barry Road Race.

Georgia and R, the pair of you had me in stitches much of the time: tongue extensions indeed! And Geo, I LOVED your dress - gorgeous!

Just one minor complaint: lager and/or coke do not go with sambuca! No No No No No (yes: you know who you are!!!!).;-)

The longest tongue competition was great fun as was the moves being busted to the lovely 1920s music in the Lodge.

And the dancing continued in the EDT...to much amusement from the locals.

Was nice to visit 'Stab and Wine' for the very first time with LM.

Yes that new drink we pioneered last night called the Pambucca (Peroni mixed witb Zambucca)

    • I personally think is a great idea Bobbly and would love if there was a section for it. I wouldn't offer free gardening under the "for sale" section as I would expect something in exchange and wouldn't expect our cat being looked after for free under the "wanted" section, as an example.
    • Looking for used decking boards. Should be hardwood
    • I have fond memories of Govinda's I used to go there  back in the 90's (maybe earlier) for an affordable tasty lunch..I was wondering if its still around. Now I have to make a point of going there. Does anyone else remember a really affordable basement cafe run by the church in a street off of Golden Square? parallel to Regent Street? I also used to love the Vegetarian cafe on Neal Street in the basement (Neal Street Cafe?) and there was an inczredible inexpensive authentic Japanese resturant I use to go to with my Japanese friends (who introduced me to it) tucked away behind Long Acre where that brown brick modern building ('modern' I think it went up in the 90's!) now stands that fronts Long Acre and Neal Street..I think it was called Asakasa or something?
    • I wonder where he could be deported to, Hungary the obvious candidate in Europe, perhaps he would get on well with Modi?   Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch and Reform UK leader Nigel Farage both said Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood should look at whether Abd El Fattah's citizenship could be revoked to enable his swift removal from the UK. Farage said in a letter to Mahmood: "It should go without saying that anyone who possesses racist and anti-British views such as those of [Mr Abd El Fattah] should not be allowed into the UK." So just racists views are ok Nige?
