The edge of Peckham Rye itself, just before Rye Lane starts. The buses were going as far as the Co-op building, terminating and then turning round and heading back north from there. I'm sure the one I was on stopped by the Library though, on Peckham Hill Street. Better luck tomorrow.

The buses are definitely running, slowly but running.

The bus drivers are doing a great job!

As for trains, only the East Croydon shuttle via Forest Hill running every 30 mins when I came through London Bridge.

No Southern trains from ED or Peckham Rye tomorrow, however a special service will be in operation from Forest Hill and Honor Oak Park tomorrow with trains every 30 mins between London Bridge and Purley.

I'm on a half empty 40 home - all good - although looking a bit over dressed in they ski gear that I used to walk in to Leadenhall St today....

I agree with Gabba. The walk in is great if you leave early and make the effort. Work shy softies the lot of you.

Do think the bus drivers deserve praise for keeping so many routes on the road this time round. While there were delays and higher demand than usual, the bus service does seem to have been better than Jan's snow. I was astonished to see some of them this morning. Think I might drop a note to TFL or the 185's operators.
London Overground will run a reduced service from Honor Oak Park and Forest Hill of 4 trains per hour towards Dalston Junction, this is in addition to the 2tph service to London Bridge from Southern.
Could anyone offer a lift into town over Waterloo or Westminster bridges within the next hour? Can offer standard taxi fare - about ?20 - can't get an actual taxi for love nor money this morning even though they're all charging x1.5.

    • For some strange reason, hubby likes to spend 'big' on family cards birthday and Christmas. I think it may have stemmed from his mother- she equated money with status and was a bit of a snob!  She was also quite eccentric - we asked for a suitcase one year and got a set of 4. One year she gave hubby the equivalent of a hearing aid - it was a device to hear bird song. Nobody we know send expensive cards. We have a twice yearly set of cards from the Foot and Mouth Painting Artists and have done for the last 30 plus years. I think they are around £12 for set of 10  - cannot remember what we paid this winter but they are fantastic value and beautiful paintings.  One of the best places around to buy cards is the Fair Trade Centre at Christ Church Barry Road. Fantastic selection with a starting price of £1.30.
