The bottom bar is the task bar. all progamms running will be there.

Clicking on a programme there will toggle between min window size and maximise window size.

Your Blue cicle was probally a minimised window for help and support.

Which you sucsesfully ended in task manager.

Not sure about your green arrow, dont have one on my keyboard.

Save your work. Close down/restart PC and check all is ok.

You are very kind b_s, but frankly, I didn't do anything...apart from work myself up into a frenzy and get my knickers in a twist! It was everyone coming together that did it...I can always rely on this forum when in a panic - whether it be while on the computer, while baking bread, or making chocolate brownies...yep, each time, forumites have come to the rescue. It's lovely.

Apologies for not latching on to your ctrl+alt+del instructions earlier - I was in a bit of a state LOL! Anyway, everything is wonderful now, hubby has not long returned, my belly is full and I am a happy bunny. And hubby knows nothing! Though he did comment on how clean the keyboard looked:)).

BTW, have a great day on Sat. Love to you and M xx

Affirmative, HAL9000 Computer, I trust you are able to read me.

However, before I disconnect you, I would like to know whether you have anything to do with the fact that this thread has lost some 10+ posts? I.e. the thread has shrunk since yesterday. I am aware that you have made some very poor decisions lately, or can this latest incident really only be attributable to human error?;-)

LOL - right on cue!

I know, no 9000 computer has ever made a mistake or distorted information...you are, by any practical definition of the words, foolproof and incapable of error...yada yada yada...heard it all before...blardy blah blah...

*commences disconnection of HAL9000 Computer*

Too funny LOL! But Narnia, you have it arse over tit!

Part 1 of the moral of the story is never to clean the keyboard (ever - i.e. with/without toothbrush) - especially while the computer remains on!

Part 2, which only applies where Admin should fall off his seat, is as per that (now disconnected) computer: never to levitate under the desk with a mouse.

Any advancement(s)?

    • Because the council responsible for it is far-left....   And you haven't answered whether it is worth diverting emergency vehicles because a few cars drive through the LTN and why some lobby groups have been so desperate to close it to emergency vehicles.    Emergency services hate non-permeable junctions as they lengthen response times....f you remember it's why the council had to redesign the DV junction because emergency services kept telling them they needed to be able to drive through it...but the council resisted and resisted until they finally relented because the emergency services said their LTN had increased response times....sorry if the truth gets in the way of a good story but those are facts. The council was putting lives at risk because they refused to open the junction to emergency services. Why? What could have been the motivation for that? So, in fact, it was the emergency services who forced the council (kicking and screaming) to remove the permanent barriers and allow emergency services access. So the council finally opened the junction to emergency services and is now coming back to re-close part of the junction.  Why?  Perhaps you should be asking who is lobbying the council to close the junction or parts of it or why the council is happy to waste so much of our money on it - who are they representing as even their own consultation demonstrated they did not have support from the local community for the measures? The results showed the majority of local residents were against the measure...but they are going ahead with them anyway.   In time, I am sure the truth will come to light and those rewponsbile will be held accountable but you have to admit there is something very unusual going on with that junction - its the very definition of a (very expensive) white elephant.
