bagpuss78 and lozzyloz,

thanks for the news, all be it sad.

I guess it'll be a mad rush to stock up on the pork chips before the shops finally shut down, it's a pity as no other sausage seems to have that slightly spicy / caramelly combination. Oh the joys of a split Kennedy's pork sausage

Ben

As fas as I'm concerned, the best sausages in the UK are from Biggles - and my favourites are the "California" ones - they're nice and spicy Sean!

That's a lot to do with the fact that I'm on a gluten-free diet (it's medical not a faddy choice before anyone starts)! but that aside, they are seriously fantastic sausages!

CALIFORNIA

Pork with paprika, chili and capsicum peppers. Slightly spicy and great for barbecue.

mmmmm - you know me well young Mr Mc

The range sounds very similar to the sausage place in the vaults under London Bridge... could be suppliers I guess - I often stop off and pick some up from there

    • So what is the issue? You want compensation for the loss of value, or you want to expedite the matter?
    • No. What happened? I actually thought, considering it was what we used to call Guy Fawkes Day last night, the loud noises from  fireworks ended remarkably early. About 9pm? Maybe I just fell asleep and didn't hear any later ones. Do people actually burn Guys any more? Apart from at places like Lewes, where I believe they still have Bonfire Societies and burn effigies of various political figures etc.
    • The accompaniment to our "Christmas Pudding" aka Nothing-Whatever-Like-A- Christmas-Pudding last year  at The Cherry Tree was "brandy butter ice-cream." If it had ever been near any brandy, the brandy must have been waved in its direction from a very great distance. Same with butter. The ice cream tasted like bog standard "vanilla" from a catering tub. At least it did bear some resemblance to ice cream. Whereas the "Christmas Pudding" bore no resemblance whatever to any Christmas Pudding I have ever seen or tasted in my many  decades of seeing and tasting Christmas Puddings. Oh, and Cinzano Bianco. Bleurgh. My sister used to drink that. 🤢
