So why does she say Denmark Hill? There's no such place. It's a road going through Camberwell.

Anyway, i love that house. I've driven past it a few times and admired it as it is what all modern homes should be - unapolgetically modern, elegant and stylish.

Hats off to Mr Eclair!

Wikipedia has this to say about it:

?In John Cary's map of 1786 the area is shown as Dulwich Hill. The only building apparent is the 'Fox under the Hill', on the site of today's 'Fox on the Hill' pub. The name of the area was changed to Denmark Hill in honour of the husband of Queen Anne, Prince George of Denmark, who lived there.?

That article is cr@p. Woman lives in unusual house in area she doesn't like much.

So what?

She lives on Grove Lane.

The house is ok but it's a bit embarrassing that you can see her guffawing dinner parties through the transparent blinds as you walk past.

Privacy was obviously not a priority for the design but then her red lip-stick is similarly indiscrete.

    • Ha ha that's hilarious - how wonderfully embarrassing for Reform!
    • Closing down completely. The lovely people there are all retiring. Thanks, but Deptford is a long way to go to make two journeys to  take and collect a car! Do they not do even relatively minor repairs if it fails its MOT first time? Then that would require four journeys 😭 Wondering if there's already a thread on here for garage recommendations? People on my road WhatsApp group have recommended some local ones. I'm particularly gutted because apart from the lovely people who worked there,  Dell was a five minute walk for me!
    • I did think that might be the reason, but five years out of seven it's going to be a weekday (I think. Not sure how leap years might affect things!)
    • Probably because the 5th was a weekday. We still have the weekend to come. Also, some fireworks going off nearly every night for the last few months. Last night something was being let off that made a very deep booming noise every 10 seconds or so. That said, if the general public are beginning to see the harm done by firework noise and choosing to use low noise options and refusing to support organised events that still use the full throttle type, I for one would be very happy. Does anyone know if the Herne Hill Velodrome Halloween fireworks event used low noise options?
