There was origiannly a workhouse on St Francis Road, where the old St Francis Hospital was before it was pulled down about Fifteen years ago. I remember meeting a very old man who was terrified of being admitted to "The End of the Road" which is what it was apparently referred to when it was originally a work house.


In more recent times when it was a hospital - there were all manner of tales about hauntings in that building. I wonder if the people who live in the new development (between Sainsburys and East Dulwich Train Station) have any tales to tell...

    • It's firework season now up until early Jan 2026. Starting with celebrating the failure of terrorist Guy Fawkes on November 5th! BOOM!
    • Get used to it! 'major incidents' are a regular occurrence these days! some ignored by mainstream media.
