Go to metacritic. It will give you a wide range of reviews and give you an immediate idea of the breadth of opinion, including gamespot and ign.


Have you got a PC? Get old copies of baldurs gate and neverwinter nights. They'll give you a cople of hundred house of absolutely huge worlds with epic storylines for about six pounds each and they aren't graphically demanding at all.

He loves the first (modern era) prince of Persia, super mario galaxy did ok, as did braid and COD4 wasn't far off a big thumbs up. Anything else can more r less be summer up as scathing contempt.


Mind you I think he's basically spot on roughly 100% of the time!

The guys a legend, since discovering him via this forum I look forward to his weekly reviews, guarenteed to cheer me up no end :)


...and I have to agree with mockney piers, I think he's generally spot on with most of his reviews....although I am a fan of RTS games which he seems to loath.

Well at least you didn't write in and ask where you can buy a copy of Duke Nukem Forever....check out the letter of the week at the end of this weeks review

Bionic Commando Review


Have to say Alan Wake looks pretty good, will keep an eye out for it when it comes out.

my first iPhone/touch game recommendation, which actually stands up as a game and makes good use of the touch screen is Zen Bound


It's sublime, great music and weirdly fascinating, plus the music is then a free download from iTunes.


Basically select a little wooden carving hanging from a tree and wrap it in paint soaked string to paint it.

That's pretty much it but it just works!


IGN give it 95%

    • Shortly to commence is the St Anthony's school street which will cover Friern Road from Goodrich to Lordship Lane plus Etherow Street.
    • Have been to Blue Brick several times over the years and I have never found them open in the evening. Looked at Suzanne in the past and she is quite expensive, but if planning a wedding or similar - she is reasonable compared with other caterers. Where is Trinco?     I doubt that the children would like Vietnamese food  although they do like curry and things like chilli con carne, We only have a family meal once or twice a year - this year it is to celebrate a 40th , 53rd,  and 27th birthday- we are both pensioners so we need to keep an eye on prices.  I have in the past cooked for 12 people but it is a tight squash getting everybody in especially as the grandchildren have got older.
