At the moment, it's - Oh, I thought I had a rather nice and rather expensive vase on that table.

Oh, duh, I have a vague memory of it getting broken sometime around Christmas.

Can I remember how, when and where it might have got broken? No.

Can I remember dreams I had when I was about four years old? Yes.

AAARRRGGGHHHH :))

Sue. I dont think that you have forgoten anything, as your message is perfect.

I have a long memory of times long ago but not a lot of what is now happening.

My own theory is that your mind can only store so much over the years it has taken up most of the space available, so things that do not matter do not get stored.

If you get up in the morning get dressed and make a cup of tea, then you have a memory.

The Vase? Look under the bed now you remember why and where it went.

Usually if you have slips of memory.it is because subconsciously you are stressing about something that is playimg on

your brain.

Dont think you are losing it ,just take a break from things, maybe a change of scenery empty your mind dont take anything you may think will help you to relax, they are only temporary mental crutches.

Instead go for a walk in a park or similar and relax naturally.

Time marches on and your problem will pass.

Just get some "me"time and dont worry about wild imaginings.

As Hugonot says"Breathe and relax".

I think Compputedshorty may be onto something there. My short term memory is absolutely shot to pieces but somehow my long term memory is fully intact. Old friends of mine are often amazed at the things I remember from decades ago and in detail too. Weirdly frustrating and at times very annoying.

Fidlers Dram a Day trip to Bangor

Chorus:

Didn't we have a lovely time

The day we went to Bangor

A beautiful day, we had lunch on the way

And all for under a pound, you know

That on the way back I cuddled with Jack

And we opened a bottle of cider

Singing a few of our favourite songs

As the wheels went around

    • I totally agree with jazzer having been “jumped on” by various members.. I try and help as that is the sort of person I am, but now will try hard  to just read and not reply.. was down right hurtful to have a comment made along the lines that as I was no longer as person supposed, in ED and moved somewhere else should just leave group. No longer sure what sort of people are on this group - certainly not as pleasant as it was 15 years  ago when people were pleasant, helpful and some things were a joke and much more  light hearted. Everyone has a right to their own opinion as it is a public forum- meaning anyone can join from where-ever but c maybe I have got that wrong as well / doesn’t matter as I will probably leave…
    • Doesn’t this business at the tills already happen in some grocery shops?
    • They shot part of an episode of the Bill around Camberwell Old Cemetery, a film set was nothing like this, for a start there were no cameras! Or direction, or site vehicles, or re-takes.
