Hello, we are moving to the area and I am wondering if there is typically a problem getting on the 8.10am or 8.20am trains to London Bridge? Of course I am expecting standing room only, but are the trains ever so full that is not possible to get on the train at East Dulwich station?

Would agree with BNG that the trains are fine most days at the moment - loads of room and seats at the back of the trains.

Now that London Bridge has completed works on the platforms, and there's an additional exit option towards the middle of the train, people don't tend to crowd into the front two carriages quite as much as they used to.

However, watch hilarity ensue if the train before is cancelled and then a four carriage train turns up :oD

They are actually very good at the moment! Although how long that will last for, I don't know.

If you are within walking distance of Peckham Rye or Denmark Hill then you do have some backup options.. Overground is reliable (and air conditioned!), even if it's unlikely to get you to your final destination. Thameslink trains are unreliable and crowded, but the routes are useful.

they are coolio at the minute to London bridge now that the long term work is panning out. E-Z Cycling still beats the train door to door for an SE22-EC2 run but the train is the hungover option - and cycling is maybe not for the faint hearted

148. Safe driving and riding needs concentration

------------------------------------------------

Avoid distractions when driving or riding such as

* loud music (this may mask other sounds)

* trying to read maps

* starting or adjusting any music or radio

* arguing with your passengers or other road users

* eating and drinking

* smoking

It may be worth keeping an eye on Southern as from Sunday, ASLEF drivers will no longer work overtime again. When this last happened, trains from East Dulwich were seriously affected, the worst being 1 train per hour in the morning peak.
I posted a message this afternoon giving National Rail's information about train services tomorrow morning after the dreadful attack last night. For some reason it has been lounged. No idea why. If you need this info please look in the Lounge.
If you go the National Rail website it will show no disruptions to current services and shows the trains running in the morning. Please make sure that you open the message at the top of the page " no trains calling at London Bridge" and view "more details" to see the actual state of play in the morning.

Yes, but TfL are currently saying you won't be able to walk over London Bridge tomorrow morning.

    • Lucaksz did an absolutely brilliant job on hanging new sliding doors, installing wardrobes, hanging cupboards and generally finishing up some carpentry. Great worker, arrives on time, excellent attention to detail and clean worker.
    • I've just checked my NHS record online.  Gruelling process, but eventually found last week's immunisation records under Acute (short-term) medicines, after having looked at my Immunisations section and been told that the information was not there but was available from my GP's record.  Anyway, my Covid vaccination at Day Lewis TJHC pharmacy last week was a Pfizer one. Krystal give me a little card with the vaccination details on it, and don't require any preliminary form-filling either.  DL provided no record.

    • Poor cat. Also poor people. I imagine it was incredibly frightening for everyone involved, quite apart from any damage to their homes. And so soon after the massive  fire in Penge. I hope the cat is found and everyone affected in any way by the fire will get all the help they need.
