Both humble & noble is the Baked Bean.

I'm eating mine on sour dough toast with a grating of cheese ( souped up with Lea & Perrins, a little white pepper too )

Heinz or Branston ( I've switched to the later ) or a.n.other, they're always there, dependable.

Once a week, very grounding for the soul, I think.

BUT how do you like yours ?

One of my friend's sons likes to count them.

BTW there are around 100 BBs in an average can.

There are.

That is what they are good for, I use to get my daughter to count them why myself and him indoors will spend quality time together :)

70% of people polled preferred Branston to Heinz.

I like to pimp my beans with a little chorizo and some fresh tomato. Excellent on sourdough.

Oh dear...

not sure if I should admit this, but we cross-posted EC...

my post was in response to the spaghetti hoops, alphabetti spaghetti post by JJF.

Sorry to disappoint you...:(

Though beans on a buttered spuds (minus the cheese - yuk) are lovely: most comforting on a miserable day like today.

    • It didn't occur to me to ask. No idea if dieticians are employed within the NHS. It is just one line of enquiry among others. The GP mentioned it, not me.
    • I thought the most they sell in terms of hot food at londis is like pastries and sausage rolls and for hot drinks its like costa coffee but its always a convenience store. Doesn’t look too bad in my opinion considering that shop has been closed down ever since i moved here
    • Hi Busterb, Yesterday I turned up with a scanner & towels, hoping to take a deceased tabby down to TNV. The body was moved moments before arrival & had not been turned in to any vets, rescues or animal hospitals. I am wondering if this could have been the same cat & if someone just tried to move the tabby further away from the road. Please be warned, viewers discretion is advised. but this is what the deceased tabby looked like: https://www.facebook.com/groups/900015513463302/permalink/3729980853800073/  In any case, if you haven't been able to get someone to scan or take down to a vet, I can scan tomorrow morning.
    • Wholeheartedly recommend Aria. He was polite, responsive and sorted our leak, from an old tap on an old plumbing system, with no bother and on same day.
