Good morning my fellow forumites :))

I was wondering where I should head to for "the game" on Saturday. I have a friend coming over and we ideally would like to find a pub with plenty of rugged handsome men (in rugby shirts).

Thanks in advance for your help! >:D<

Agree with Mockney, either of those should be fine, but EDT might be a safer bet.

Depends on footy really, there are some fans of a certain club in blue who drink in the CPT, and will cry if anything else is shown. Took me ages to get Liverpool on the TV in there last year because they clashed in the Champs League, and I'd always forget to ask... Had sweet revenge in the semis though ;-)

As for me, I'm not sure yet, considering going over to an Australian friend's (former CPT manager) pub in Clapham which gets rammed for the rugby.

Ha, yeah pretty much... Well to be fair, it's probably about half way between Balham and Clapham Common stations.

Just checked footy fixtures, and there are only 2 games on Saturday Man U will clash with the rugby, but can't see that causing any issues, so rugby should be on in most places.

Watched the first half in the Magdala (with the mother of all hangovers) and the second in the EDT. There's nowt wrong with the EDT but I wish we stayed in the Magdala - it was sooooo busy in the EDT. IMHO, the Magdala is one of the better pubs to watch sport in.

Not sure about next Saturday though - maybe watch it at home. (?)

    • I would recommend the Dulwich Test and Service centre that used to be in Hindemanns road and then moved to the little Trading Estate off Tyrrel Road. I've used them very happily for nearly 40 years. Paul and Reg Shires.
    • Such a shame as Dells is fantastic - a decent local business providing a great service to residents.
