Recently he has tended to get back on the forum in a flurry - answer immediate questions and add value where he can to other threads and then go quiet again. I believe he has a pretty full life - handling the forum (which does not form any part of his constituency 'duties') may well take a lower priority than his full-time work, his active councillor duties and his role as a family man. We are lucky that he and Councillor Hamvas (and Robin whilst she was on the Council and after) are so prepared to engage with the forum.

It's great to have an active and committed set of councillors. It is less than great that people rely on them to report stuff that could easily be done themselves via the website or phoneline. I know that sometimes it is correct to ask a councillor to get involved, but for some instances of cracked pavements/flytipping etc. it is really the responsibility of the person who witnesses it.

Condolences to Cllr. J B.

Ah, James. I'm sorry. It has to happen. But for that book to be forever closed -- it's tough, and I wish you luck in making your way through to the other side. My father still visits, in dreams, thirty years after his death. He's not done with me yet.

    • Tried months ago, to get folk together to do something, to say thank you. Been a member of the forum for years and if you had not stepped up, would not be an active  forum. Well administered as well. So from me to you, thanks for keeping it going..  Happy Christmas and blessings and good fortune in 2026 which I am told is The Year of The Horse….
    • So glad to know, some places sell decent food.. not just dumped in microwave to be reheated and to be charged a premium in pricing..
    • a (clean) nappy/pamper, it was like it had snowed in the garden.  The absorbent stuff inside spread everywhere.  Can I have my gardening gloves back please.
    • They've left all kinds of things in my garden including gardening gloves and shoes, not to mention scavenged food and packaging. Once they left an unopened vacuum pack of smoked trout, the next day some pita bread. All a bit biblical.
