In non-league football cup replays have always been scheduled for the same week of the original tie. The Trophy has been like this for as long as I can remember (25 years or so), likewise the FA Vase. Don't forget that the FA Cup only changes to 10 day replays when the FL teams enter in round 1: all the preliminary and qualifying rounds have replays in the same week of the original tie.

The reason is to do with minimising disruption to the fixture list. Getting ties concluded asap means that future postponements are kept to a minimum.

It used to be the same in the FA Cup too when the old Football League teams became involved in the competition. It has only been since the 1990/91 season that FA Cup replays have been played "on the second Wednesday following the original match, or earlier if mutually agreed by the two Clubs" from the First Round Proper onwards. This is as a result of a change in police advice for the staging of such games. For the earlier stages of the FA Cup, replays have to be played "on or before the following Thursday" after the drawn match.

In the FA Trophy any drawn match throughout the competition "must be replayed on the following Thursday, unless the Clubs mutually agree to an earlier day". Clubs also have the option of settling a tie at the first time of asking: through extra time and penalties if required. Both clubs have to agree to this though, which obviously wasn't the case for the match last Saturday.

Won 5-0 against Merstham today, with a crowd of 1,564 - astonishing for this level, given that the opponents brought very few. Dulwich now have on paper a really good chance of making the playoffs, but need to take advantage of their several games in hand. This can be hard because fixtures pile up - e.g. Hamlet are now at home on 20th, 22nd and 25th. Let's all get behind them at those games!

    • I hadn't looked at the actual posts on Instagram. That's sad, then. The shop opening hours are still shown at the top of the page. I  guess changing them wasn't uppermost in her mind under the circumstances.
    • I want to recommend the kitchen fitters Top Marx kitchens. They were excellent from the communication, the planning and the fitting. John did a fantastic job of of fitting and worked around and solved many of the issues we had with Ikea who we purchased from. John gave lots of helpful advice and support. We would definitely use them again for any kitchen work. I have added before and after photos.
