I concur. Some excellent football from both sides. Highlight for me was our excellent attack and first goal and then VCD's equaliser.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hello not sure if it has been covered on here, checked back a few pages and could not find anything.

Thought I would ask fans on here rather than call the club.

Thinking about taking my daughter to a game, being a West Ham fan Upton park is not the place for a 5yr old.. not the place for a 45yr old but that's for another time.

So my question is are Children welcome, good place for them to stand/sit and not be subjected to a kinds of language that I have to explain later. I'm not looking for a kids club. Would like to support local team and if I can take kids along safely then all the better.

thanks in advance

RC

I went there at the same age and loads of kids go there now. They are more than welcome. You'll love it and you'll never be bothered about going to Upton Park again when you can go to somewhere more friendly and affordable at Champion Hill. The football is pretty damned good too.

My 5 year old daughter has been a few times and enjoyed it. There isn't a lot of swearing, and only one song I can think of there a swear word is obvious, but my kids don't seem to have picked up on it.

Quite a few people with kids stand on the far side opposite the main stand. There is a sheltered but there, and kids often run around and sometimes play their own mini football matches at the side of the pitch.

Perfectly fine for kids. Atmosphere is really friendly and lots of people bring their kids along. What I would say though - from my experience of taking my 7 year-old daughter (now 8) - is that it's quite nice for them to have a friend to play with. 90 minutes is quite a long time for young kids to be standing around watching football.

Perhaps an effort to sound genuine saaaf london? ;-)

That was a joke before anyone gets upset.

The song goes

His first name is Gavin, is Gavin, is Gavin

His second name is Rose, is Rose, is Rose

And we really like him, we like him, we like him

In fact we f******g love him, we love him, we love him.

Not the work of a lyrical genius to be fair, but it's a nice shout to the manager.

I have a personal favourite, but only because I share a last name with one of the players and my daughter thinks the song is for her.

That's great bluerevolution. I missed the one on 21st but look forward to your postings. Are you the owner of Dulwich Hamlet?

DH's second goal was really nicely made. And the first in open play for a while!

Not sure I can get to the Maidstone match, but defo going to the final match against Tonbridge Angels.

Just wish the bloke with the drum hadn't come and stood right next to us for the second half. You'd think the ear defenders my daughter was wearing would have given some clue that she#s not big on loud noise, but clearly not.

    • Ok thanks, I will ask the GP. Sorry, I know I post on here a lot/too much, but I'm not going into my medical issues on here. If I could find the information I need online, I obviously wouldn't need to see a dietician! Thanks for trying to help, though x
    • We had two air con units fitted with the heat pump mounted on the back wall.  one indoor unit in the loft and one in the kitchen/diner.  would not have been able to sleep in this heat in the loft without it - absolutely love it.  We have solar+batteries so with the amount of sun we having then its covering the cost of the aircon.  we used Progas Heating Services Ltd, 176 Sydenham road, London, SE26 5JZ Tel: 020 8 676 0101 [email protected] they were brilliant.  quick and straightforward to deal with.  highly recommend.  cost was ballpark £5k all in.  was quite a bit of chasing pipework into the walls and running pipes from the heat pump to the 2 units.
