eh? I've agreed with you that was teh problem, it was the community/culture thing i had issue with.

Well maybe the incompetent, blame bucking culture in the public sector....

really?!

It's been interesting to see the Guardian squirm over the past few days. The question will be how much they suppressed in the name of not wanting to be seen as 'racist'.

Curiously, the only journo at the Gruin that looks like coming out of this with any credibility is Julie sodding Bindel, who raised the issue half a decade ago.

I very much doubt anyone else on this thread does quite frankly.

Indeed.

But why let that get in the way of some lazy mud slinging.

Are you saying that if there are people who knew what was happening and were in a position of being able to do something, but failed to act, you are saying there is no blame to laid?

I have decided to take no further part in the hateful shitfest but I have taken names. oh yes. I will however add that jack Straw did raise this nigh on a decade ago regarding his Blackburn constituency. So mebbes ex NUS president and all round political tugster jack Straw should be the new darling of the EDF monday club. See if you can shoehorn this into any further fourm conversation, ideally using a Jack Straw : Strawman analogy for extra points

I'm interested to hear what people think about the culture (not specifically this case) of just calling for resignations from heads of service whenever something bad happens?

To me it's just a crap way of showing the country (and the breying press) that action has been taken, whilst not actually doing anything to fix problems.

That is not to say that Jobs should never be lost given proper investigation, but it seems that a quickscapegoated figurehead is the preferred option for the hordes.

Er, no.

Surely you can find some way of taking the blame all the way back to Maggie?

    • I’d also recommend Paul for electrical work. He came round the other week to help us out with a handful of jobs (installing an SPD, new light fittings, installing a dimmer switch, a bathroom fan). His quote was cheaper than what I got from others, he turned up on time and he got the job done quickly.
    • We’d like to add our recommendation for Lukasz and team at L&L Building & Maintenance.  Lukasz has recently installed a roof terrace for us, and we’ve found him a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We contacted about a dozen recommended builders and found his quote very competitive. During the build his team delivered quality work, they were no hassle in the house at all and they kept the place tidy every day. The terrace looks great, and we’re very happy customers. What stood out in particular was Lukasz’s responsiveness, right from discussing quotes to follow-up during the build. Lukasz often checked in and was always available when we needed him.  We’ll definitely contact Lukasz again for future building work and we’d happily recommend him to others looking for a reliable builder.   Lukasz Kugaczewski L&L Building & Maintenance 07926651960 [email protected] www.landl-build.com
    • Yes, I did mention the train, which I now get from East Dulwich to Guys instead of the 40. Depends where in East Dulwich you are starting from which route is easiest! I think it is probably lack of staff rather than lack of hospitals which is the problem?
    • What can be done? How about reporting it to the police?
