I have just had two gentleman dressed in hi-viz waistcoats knock at the door and ask if I had received this month's SE22 magazine. I replied that I had upon which they asked for my signiature as proof that I had received it.

I declined to give my signature.

Can anyone confirm if the request is kosher?

It's not unusual for a council or a company to check that their material is being delivered. They pay for the deliveries so there's an interest in making sure they are delivered. The Hi-Viz jackets are what sound strange to me. Did the hi-viz jackets have Southwark Council written on them? And did they have ID. If they were legit they certainly would have had ID. Best to call Southwark Council to confirm if they had anyone in the area today. Also what were they asking you to sign? Did you read it?
I run SE22 and I do ask them to do back checks if someone who usually gets the mag says they haven't received. Sorry if this has caused a problem but I do appreciate when people can confirm they got it. If you have any issues please feel free to email at [email protected]

    • interesting the police said "the car was in demand at the moment" what make/model is that?
    • Just be careful to know exactly what they cover and the limits. i use Many Pets and Medivet, as I think one of the vets is exceptionally good. Some of the NHV are, but I’ve had a couple I’ve not liked at all.  I need consistency and to feel that they actually care more about the animals than the money.
    • I haven't used them myself but I noticed recently that "Snoots" in Forest Hill is going unlimited primary care for £33/month, so basically a subscription. Easy access on the 176 from East Dulwich. I have no idea what it includes so read the contract! It's a chain but only 5 branches so not a mega corporate. 🤷‍♂️ https://www.snootsvet.com/find-us
