Bus route - Ryedale Road

Hi all -

I am thinkin of renting a room on Ryedale Road, SE 22, by the old Camberwell cemetary.

I just wanted to know what the bus routes are like out there - a little concerned I may be miles from a direct bus to London (thought I would be near the 12).

Can anyone put my mind at rest please?

Depends how you feel about a bit of a walk - 10 mins from there down Forest Hill Rd/Peckham Rye will take you to the 12

Not too bad I would say (on a busy day it might be worth getting off the 12 going in to town at Trafalgar Square and walking mind you)

Yeah -

I am jus used to living on East Dulwich road so have been spoiled.

The 12 is fine - it will take me straight to oxford street which is fine by me.

What about getting to ED station?

better off getting the 63 or walking to Peckham Rye station from there. Plus you get more choice of destination

Bus from Rye Dale to Ed station? None that are straightforward

From up there I'd have thought Honor Oak station would be much closer.

My mate was plannin on cyling to ED station so I suppose that is an option?

ANywya, you don't think it will be missions to get a bus to central then?

Also, how long do you reckon to Lordship Lane?

The 63 goes all the way to Kings Cross. I get it to work every day and get off at Smithfield market for the City. It takes around an hour door to door.

I used to walk to LL from Goodrich (top end, near the school) to get the bus down W'Worth Road to Aldwych. Now I go down Dunstans Road and get teh 63 to Blackfriars and walk. Much nicer. Less busy buses, nicer route, avoiding Camberwell and Elephant. Nero

Ideally I want to keep getting the 176 which I think runs along all of LL. How long will it take to walk from Ryedale to the old Lane?

P13s are mot that reg. I would think it would take up to 20 mins to walk from Ryedale to LL. If not the case already, get a Bus Pass and then you can hop on the first bus that comes going in your direction and then swap. Nero

63 is your nearest bus route into central london (blackfriars/Elephant & Castle or Kings Cross) - its fantastic and never more than a few minutes to wait.

To walk to LL (middle of it rather than ED station) is 15 mins max.

Honor Oak Park Station (trains to London bridge every 10 mins in rush hour) is 20 mins walk (although up and then down a steep hill) from Ryedale. Useful parade of shops close by with post office, barbers and Si Manga 2 mins away.

I meant to say that I think Ryedale is a very nice little street although parking looks like a problem at times. Also some houses on the cemetary side have little gardens that open directly onto the green space at the back of the cemetary. No graves in that bit just a lovely open green space. Really nice.

63 a top route. Nice bus lane all the way along the old kent road. Much better than tackling Peckham and the Walworth Road on the 12 - people have died of old age on that bus before its even got to the elephant.

I walked it last night to LL and it took 15 mins - really good!
