Snorers Wanted

Narnia

Recommended Posts

.......for advice. My other half has heard of this affliction and is deeply concerned that one day this may happen to me. Naturally enough I've tried to reassure her that it only happens to other people and indeed as I've only ever read about it myself it may well be a myth. However if any of you can throw some light on this subject it would be appreciated.....just in case!

Go to your doctor and say that it's affecting the quality of your life

He or she should refer you to a ear, nose, throat dept at your local hospital for further checks

That's what I did

In the end I cut back on the booze and the fags and the snoring went away mostly

Now when I do snore Ms Crepe gives me a gentle poke and I roll over onto my front and that stops me snoring again

People usually snore because the back of their throat gets relaxed and vibrates at each breath

So either sleep on your front (tennis ball sown into the back of a T shirt works but is extreme) or quit the booze... nooooooooooooo!

Best of luck, Declan

There are also some over-the-counter things that you can buy at the chemist which can cut it down - i have some spray which you use on the back of your throat, and some sweet-like things (like the really thin minty things which were trendy a couple of years ago) which you also put on the back of your throat which 'melt'. I think both these things keep your throat more open and cut down snoring. They seem to work okay, but I only ever use them after a night out (so, errm, rarely) when I know I'll be snoring.

I did some research a couple of years ago and there are lots of things you can do, but it seems that alcohol, health, and weight play the biggest part!
