for those who - like me - were wondering, diligent Googling has shown that the image behind Morrissey was a still of Tony Franciosa from Senilita (1962) directed by Mauro Bolognini and based on a book by Italo Svevo.

The female star was Claudia Cardinale and the film was marketed in France under a title meaning 'When flesh succumbs' - surely some subtext here?

Good old Chris Martin was certainly 'every inch' the cock last night, writhing around on his back like some achingly romantic crab - and tossing-out wince-inducing lines to the crowd whilst caressing his guitar which was personalised with deep, meaningful and crazy graffiti slogans.

But they do have more than just a few songs which are really rather good, and are perfectly suited to that place and slot. And and basically everyone loved it. So fair play to 'em. And well done, Chris, you great big tit.

Well, let's think. The ones with 30,000 people singing along in unison from start to end are probably the good ones.

The ones where people stand around scratching their heads and talking amongst themselves whilst waiting for the ones where they can sing along in unison from start to end - are probably the crap ones.

I'm not sure how Elbow suddenly became national treasure status but their first album has some pretty great moments and I've not minded anything subsequent.

Coldplay. Yes, CM is a cock, yes everything theyve done post parachutes is done to a boring forumla, but I actually really rather like their first album too. File it under nicholas cage.

    • If it was limited to a couple of days a year, so we all knew, that would be fine. In the last few years (and it is a recent thing) you get random fireworks going off any time after dusk for half the year. It does more than cause problems for pets and wildlife- it can mean lasting damage and massive expense and hassle for pet owners. All because some get a buzz out of loud bangs.
    • Ohh dear.  Fireworks can be great fun.  Where I used to live the kids would have firework wars/games.  Watching them was more enjoyable than watching  TV. (Which you could hardly hear due to the pops and bangs).  It's not like anyone/anything could stop them. I would still prefer organised public displays that are affordable.   And I agree that fireworks cause problems for wild life, pets and people.   It seems to be one of those things that just happens so we have to put up with it.  But it is still not as problematic here as in other areas in London - that's for sure.
    • I made sure to set off a few today just to rile you guys up 😇😂 Always looking for something to criticise
    • Ugly...maybe..does it bother me..NO! I think its somehow reassuring to see theres still phoneboxes around. East Dulwich may  be getrified but there may well be some elderly people who don't have mobiles and kids who may have lost theirs adults ditto etc etc. I'd rather keep it than lose it...just because i don't use it does'nt mean its not needed.  there are many eyesores in the modern world not all of them as potentially useful.
