Anna - 10k sounds great well done!

Think I'm a bit far off from that. Have been out of the loop recently as it turns out George has had silent reflux for the past month and still going so things a bit tough! Now on medication though so fingers crossed I'll be joining you for runs in the park and more importantly cake in the cafe soon!

Hi to all!

Saff

Was thinking about you the other day, hoping all was ok.

Jeez it must be tough with reflux. hope medication works!

Let mw know when you're out and about a bit more. Would love to meet him!

OMG just re-read EDITING spelling mistake.. the shame!

I think I have to admit defeat in the meeting up stakes, life with 3 kids and associated school runs and activities for the older ones makes it tricky! Middle daughter now does Diddy Dance on Tuesday afternoons.

Hopefully you will all still be meeting come September when both of my big kids will be at school all day.

Myself and my partner are independant fully trained breast feeding specialists based in the East Dulwich area.If you would be interested in us coming along and giving a free talk on breastfeeding and answering any questions or queries you may have please feel free to PM me or reply on this thread.Alternatively, if you find that you require assistance further on down the line please get in touch. We do private home visits!!

Great to see people today - i forgot to mention that as part of the Dulwich Festival there's a fete on Goose Green this Sunday (11am - 4pm). My husband (who's a children's book illustrator) has a stall selling birthday cards and some prints for kids bedrooms so pop by and say hello if you're around.

hi everyone hope all ur babies are happy and well!! i havnt been to any meet ups and my baby is just over 3 months, wondering if it is too late to join you ladies? starting to feel a tad bit lonely as none of my frends (im pretty young...)have children :S and the weather is picking up so would be lovely to take baby out for a bit! what days do you meet up?

thanks!

nabz x

Nabz, never too late.

I think it takes a few months for most mums to get settled and confident with venturing out/ routines etc

Most of the first time mums (and 2nd timers with toddlers at nursery) meet at 2 at the gardens cafe on tuesday.

We're all about to swap email addresses as the new WBC will take over soon so make sure you've swapped deets.

Infact, Jane/sara I don't want to take over but I'm happy to add to email list if people want to pm me their contact details.

We had a few park meet ups when it was warmer which hopefully we'll be able to do again. Picnics, chuck down some toys and there was even the odd bottle of wine ;) Steph!!

I'll be there briefly on tues I hope so looking forward to seeing you then if you can make it! X

Anna

I can agree with Anna. I have not managed one meet up. Partly because I need to pick up my son from nursery at 3 so 2 is not possible and partly because my new baby has been so sick that I haven't had energy to!

But I would like to go on mailing list, in case I manage to get organised!

Absolutely, it's definitely never too late. Unlike me, who has been incredibly late doing the email thing - really sorry.

Anna, if you're up for doing it I think you should go for it as despite good intentions I fear I will not be good at getting around to it if I do it - somehow switching on the computer is the last thing I want to do in the evenings! I will send you a pm now with my details.

I'm on for next Tuesday too, hope to see people then.

Jane

    • Good luck with this - there have been several requests over the years by students needing to do infant observations.  I was lucky when I did mine  - way back in 1994 at a local nursery. Have you tried contacting the NCT to see if there are any local groups who would be willing to participate? As a mother of 2 - found the observation very informative - mine was a 2 year old child as my course stated a child under 3. Got my highest grade for this project so was very happy.
    • Happy birthday! I've just read a bunch of your reviews and really enjoyed it. You write Interestingly without being too ornate, and you manage to give a really good insight into the "vibe" of a place as well as the food. Totally agree with your review of Rocca - it's simple, great food in a friendly atmosphere at a completely reasonable price, esp considering the location.
    • Hello,  I am a 52-year old mother and an integrative counsellor who lives and works in West Dulwich, SE21. In mid January I am starting a new training in Parent Infant Psychotherapy (helping parents to bond with their babies), and a key component of the course is a 24-month infant observation.  I’m looking for someone who will be giving birth ideally in January or February and who would allow me to observe their baby for one hour a week until the baby’s second birthday. The baby can be awake or asleep, playing, feeding, eating or interacting with carer/s and family members - whatever they normally do at that time.  The purpose of the observation is to enable me to gain a thorough knowledge of very early infant development and to develop the capacity to maintain an observationally minded and non-judgemental attitude in my work as an infant-parent psychotherapist.  I will provide enhanced DBS clearance and I’m happy to answer any questions.  Please forward this email to anyone who might be interested, email me at [email protected] or call me on 07949716043. I would be extremely grateful for any leads. Many thanks,  Millie  Millie Burton, MBACP Integrative Counsellor [email protected] millieburton.com
    • I keep my promises...had the Sweet & Sour Chicken.  It was great - the best sweet and sour dish I've ever had. The chicken itself was good and the sauce seemed home made with real vegetables and pineapple - it is NOT the red sugar sauce goo you get elsewhere.  The Korean fried chicken was very good but the sweet chili sauce was much more chili than sweet - just far too spicy for me. There is a honey something sauce that I will get next time. Egg fried veggie rice was good as a side.  We also ordered the chicken katsu curry which was polished off so quickly I didn't get to taste it. It looked very good tho. SD is not like Magic Wok used to be - cheap and filling but junk food. (Don't get me wrong - I went often to Magic Wok). SD's food is much higher quality, real ingredients, chunky portions, freshly prepared. I'll be back, for sure.
