I think it's nice that people express themselves through the medium of what they choose to wear.

It helps avoid the twats, and frankly the world would be a vanilla place if everything was tasteful.

Apart from Crocs. Always always apart from Crocs. Burn the Crocs. A lot.

Crisp white shirts....with black bra showing through underneath. Horrible.

Culottes. They don't suit anyone.

Tartan trousers.

Gladiator sandals.

Ugg boots.

Crocs on adults.

'Christmas' jumpers.

Sequinned jackets and trousers/accessories.

Leather trousers.

Hunter wellies worn in the city. (Pleased for Hunter's sales figures and its given me many a laugh so shouldn't really complain).

Although of course, it doesn't really matter what you wear, you've either got it or you haven't. Best to be yourself.

There is a time and a place for everything!

Guilty - although not Hunters (very 2009 darling - all about the Chameau this year). But in mitigating circumstances the weather was rather inclement.

Ok let me add to that list:

String vests on anyone.

Bolero jackets on large busted women.

Fleeces. No matter how 'high-tec' or expensive they are, you still look scruffy.

Dungarees.

What type of fashion was going on back in '97? Probably boot cut jeans, ankle boots and puffa jackets. I shall add those to my list (with the possible inclusion of 'Chameau (2011) worn by men. In the city. Whatever the weather' too).

Fair enough, perhaps I'm being unnecessarily harsh but the blokes I have seen wearing them tend to look like they are trying too hard to be on trend so its put me off. Maybe they had low slung skinny jeans as well...

Never heard of Chameau, I thought Hunter's revival was earlier than that actually. I predict Barbour wellies for next year's must have rubber wear btw.

Fashion can be art and it can be theatre. Personally, I can get as much of a kick out of standing outside a shop looking at a stunning gown in the window as I can from wandering around any museum or gallery. I don't need to own it or to wear it (although that would be nice) to appreciate it's fabulousness.

I also enjoy watching how young people put together their outfits. Since the beginning of time teenagers have looked for ways to express themselves (music, clothes etc) and I'm uplifted when I see a teenager looking uniquely and creatively put together - especially as it is usually done on a budget of sweet FA.

Oh, and I don't mind Lady Ga Ga. Sure, she's copying those who have gone before, but so what? I would hate to think that her predecessors had slammed the door shut after them. If she took herself seriously she would be unbearable, but she doesn't, she's having FUN.
