Hi, we are considering buying a house next to the stadium of Hamlets FC, on the opposite side from tribunes. Can somebody advise on the noise in the area because of football fields? None of us is a football player/spectacular, we cannot even understand the FC webpage. The agent is saying that we should only worry about the noise from Saturday afternoons. Is it true? Are games always scheduled around the same time? Should we only worry about screams from tribunes or players as well? Thank you in advance

I am a resident living on that estate for the past 3 years.

The matches happen mostly on a Saturday afternoon, plus occasional games on Tuesday/Thursday evenings.

No usually not a problem with noise, their average turnout is around 200.

Occasionally there are pre-season friendlies where the place is rammed but these are very few and far between.

Tribunes?

I'm sure Sulla had one or two of them tortured, but I'm sure it's not enough of a problem in modern Brittania to worry about.

Seriously though, I wouldn't give it a second thought, the car wash in the car park probably generates more noise than the Hamlet crowd.

Yes, particularly dangerous in the winter when its got ice on it.

I live on Abbotswood Road rather than Burrow Road, so can't comment on the lane running down the side of the football club... but "kids riding and burning stolen motorbikes will leave your 2am slumber in tatters too.". Pfffft. Come off it. You are making it up. There is a noticeable lack of burnt out bikes round here for that to be true.

    • It was indeed in the vicinity of DKH. I live on the ED estate and I could tell it must be close by because of the noise. When I left my house this morning I found the culprits litter still in the middle of the st. It looked like they had lit a whole box on fire in the middle of the road. My cat jumped out of her skin. I’ll try and report it on Southwark website same as I have had to with other illegal use this week. Any other ideas for what we can do with the photos? Maybe one of the Southwark councillors. It’s outrageous and dangerous behaviour.
    • Had another great meal there…. those that haven’t tried it, give it a go.. have a special lunch menu as well so you can get a flavour of the food.
    • If you "cotton on" and read the council announcement, it clearly states "The library will be closed from 17 November until late June or early July 2026."  https://www.southwark.gov.uk/2025/dulwich-library-closing-refurbishment
    • I’ve been seeing Lisa at goose green clinic for energy work for a year now.  Lisa is kind, caring and hugely supportive. She is wonderfully masterful and trained as a reiki master for 20 plus years. Alongside other energy work.  My time spent with her is like therapy. An emotional safe space for deep conversations and reflection followed by relaxing and energising healing work.  each experience I’ve had has been different, the end result remains the same. Feel lighter, almost euphoric and almost float home. Definitely an experience not to be missed.  https://www.goosegreenclinic.net/therapies/healing-energy-work/
