So you started posting on this forum on 6 February, 2wans.

Would you say that your fourteen posts so far, including those on this thread, have contributed to the forum or the local community at all?

I'm genuinely interested to know.

So now that you?ve been called out on your original insulting post and no one?s buying your excuses, you?ve retreated into outright trolling? Well, whatever makes you feel like you haven?t wasted the day...

"limp wrist"

noun, Slang: Disparaging and Offensive.

1.

a contemptuous term used to refer to a homosexual, especially a male homosexual.

http://www.dictionary.com/browse/limp-wrist

Other dictionaries are available online and off. Almost all note that "limp wrist" and its derivative forms are impolite or offensive.

If you don't know the meaning of the words and phrases you are using, you should consider using only words whose meaning you do understand. Unless, of course, you are just trolling for amusement - though if you are, there are other online fora where you might feel more at home.

................................................ Right.

EDIT: Just because someone thinks it's okay to slip in a few homophobic euphemisms in the dictionary & bring a whole new meaning to the word "limp" when combined with "wristed", does not mean we all think like that. Again, that says more about you, not me.

In any case, it turned out to be Jehovah's Witnesses. I've never known them to persistently knock on a week day.

Thanks for the heads up, paulu1973. I was told it was probably a political party because they tend to have a certain way of knocking {according to my mum}. I just wanted to make sure. It might be worth catching them next time I'm around & asking them to stop knocking.

2wans....

It is called canvassing and all political parties do it, especially when they have a sitting councillor (as ED does), all year round. Why? Because it is a good way to ask people if there is anything they would like to see the council address or do better. They will even happily chat with trouble making trolls like you.

IRONICALLY, the only TROLLS in this thread are the select few who decided to take my description of a knock & attack me, making the assumption that I was being homophobic. I know myself well enough, & so do my friends. What else matters?

You're so backwards, & no matter how sincere I am it is't going to change a thing, so this is my final post. I'm out.

If you don't want to get bothered by politicos door-stepping you then just give them a long expletive-ridden rant about their policies and failings and they will strike you off their list and they will never bother you again.

It works for me! I've never had any of them around for years. Bliss!

:)) :)) :))

To be fair, lots of people tend to club together in a pack mentality on this forum. I?ve experienced it, I?ve seen it done to others, it?s not pleasant.

I am not at all defending the OP here. Blatant trolling can be just as annoying and damaging to the forum. My initial reaction was more to do with the shear exasperation at yet another self absorbed thread, miles off topic (if there even was a topic), and another argument with familiar, as well as new (or reincarnated) forum users.

And people had the audacity to say myself and another regular on here were the primary cause of this forum becoming boring and predictable.

    • You may have seen an article in the paper today about Jewish leaders and notables calling on the UN and world leaders to sanction Israel [https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/oct/22/jewish-notables-open-letter-un-sanction-israel], "... Prominent Jewish figures around the world are calling on the United Nations and world leaders to impose sanctions on Israel over what they describe as “unconscionable” actions amounting to genocide in Gaza. Over 450 signatories, including former Israeli officials, Oscar winners, authors and intellectuals have signed an open letter demanding accountability over Israel’s conduct in Gaza, the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. The letter’s release comes as EU leaders meet in Brussels on Thursday amid reports they plan to shelve proposals for sanctions over human rights violations. “We have not forgotten that so many of the laws, charters, and conventions established to safeguard and protect all human life were created in response to the Holocaust,” the signatories write. “Those safeguards have been relentlessly violated by Israel.” ..."   There is also a petition we can sign to support them in their call for justice: Direct link: https://secure.avaaz.org/campaign/en/stand_with_jews_demand_action_loc_cp1/?tUwBCsb&v=502713833&cl=22394973010&_checksum=7dc99acb5dd4fc5a43a24e21772f51005ea239753e9ae3033d9f79ffd6119559 "For the first time since the ceasefire, a powerful coalition of Jewish voices have come together, urging world leaders to keep the pressure up until real accountability and freedom are achieved.Their call can shift the political mood and give leaders courage to act decisively -- Amplify their voices and stand with them: The demands of Global Jewish Voices: To respect and abide by the decisions of the International Court of Justice, noting their application also in the West Bank and East Jerusalem; to apply arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court; and to resist efforts to unduly pressure and influence and prevent the workings of both courts. To refuse any complicity in continued crimes and violations of international law against Palestinians by Israel, including by ending the provision of arms and other relevant goods and services; to use relevant leverage, including targeted sanctions on governmental bodies and individuals responsible for violations of international law, and suspension of relations with commercial entities contributing to these violations. To ensure that humanitarian assistance reaches all Palestinians in Gaza at the scale that is commensurate to their vital need, that the blockade is lifted and materials for reconstruction enter, and that there is a full Israeli military withdrawal. To refute false accusations of antisemitism that abusively deploy our collective history to tarnish those with whom we stand together in the pursuit of peace and justice. • I've actually met Luke Johnson and he's actually a very amicable, witty and extremely clever man. He's also created thousands of jobs and generated millions and millions of pounds of tax revenue for the government, offering goods and hospitality that countless millions of people have enjoyed over the decades. I'm not a fan of Gail's but I'm also not a fan of people who knock down good guys that have contributed a huge amount to this country.  Anyway, French Patisseries and southern hemisphere coffee don't belong on Farmer's markets.
    • What mandatory action would then be required of them?
