Jim1234
It seems a new train timetable has been announced for ED, but I'm unable to work it out. Anyone got a clear source? The official website below is pants. https://www.railplan2020.com Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/188149-new-train-timetable/ Share on other sites
srisky
I just plugged in the details of my travel into national rail journey planner but set the date to end of May Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/188149-new-train-timetable/#findComment-1236170 Share on other sites
hammerman
All looks very chic but hope ED can cope with the additional car parking for the train station. Jim1234
Thanks guys! Seems the trains will be more frequent but annoyingly a bit inconsistent. So all trains currently going to West Croydon will now go to East Croydon? That's useful for Brighton, Gatwick etc. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/188149-new-train-timetable/#findComment-1236215 Share on other sites
OutOfFocus
Broadly yes.Very few trains from West Croydon.http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/advanced/EDW/from/WCY/2018/05/21/0000-2359?stp=WVS&show=all&order=wttI can't see any trains to West CroydonTrains to East Croydon from 0958 to 1558 and thence to Caterham.During peak periods looks like you have to change at Selhurst or Crystal Palace. Renata Hamvas
The new Denmark Hill/Peckham Rye/Nunhead provisional timetable is also out. It's been badly thought through in off-peak times. Northbound there are three trains in 10 minutes (Thameslink/Victoria/Thameslink) and then a 20 minute gap. Why couldn't they be spaced with 10 minute intervals? It would mean less crowding on platforms, better transport choices for passengers and mean that there would be less likely to be issues with the signalling where the two lines merge at Nunhead if a train is running a bit late. :( Thameslink have chosen to ignore the lobbying by the Cinderella Line, local residents, Councillors etc to have all trains running through to Kentish town and have sensible spacing. I have assumed they would slot the Victoria train in the 20 minute gap they created between the Thameslink trains, with their 10 and 20 minute spacing but no, let's cram three trains together!
