I saw the Hughes wave this afternoon and thought it was hilarious.


We complain that managers aren't given enough time and when Hughes doesn't deliver (yet, and they are only 3 points behind Arsenal with a game in hand over most teams) in his first full season with their new found wealth you think he should be sacked!


Keef, your dislike of him wouldn't stem from his United associations would it? ;)

Genuinely nothing to do with it. As I've said before, I was not in to footy at all as a kid, didn't get in to it until I was over 16, and didn't get really in to it until I moved to Liverpool. As a result, I remember Hughes more as a veteran player for Chelsea.


I just think he's a c**t, what more can I say.

I think Mark Hughes is doing a great job at Man City. I believe they've lost only once all season. That is a tough squad of players to keep under control with their history but all seems to be calm in Manchester. I think it's only a matter of time before they really kick on with Sparky in charge.

Have you got any monery on this result, the odds must be very good. I can't see it myslef but it must be worth a fiver of anyones money, if it comes up of course.

      As the days shorten having evening fireworks for e.g. birthday parties becomes more realistic, the idea that fireworks is only about Guy Fawkes day or New Year's Eve is not a rule. I personally do not like fireworks, but other do, and I would see no reason to stop other's pleasure. I am sure the local Puritans will object, and there are issues about disturbing wild life with unexpected noise. But I'm in favour of simple pleasures. And many do like fireworks.

      Most churches rent out halls for children's' parties but rarely adult parties, Christ Church only does afternoon parties,   The East Dulwich Community centre hires out halls to 9 pm only and all music needs to be on a sound restrictor as is in a residential area. St Johns with St Clements have a small hall but not sure if they allow adult parties. Nunhead Green has a newish community centre with a couple of different size halls. Most places seem to charge around £40 ph  with a deposit of £100/200 (returned if no damage or excess cleaning needed.
