It is a shame about the clashes as it was a cracking game which we dominated until they scored their 2nd when we just fell apart at the back chasing it.

I always laugh at David James but he was superb today and kept Pompey in it.

Hello Declan

I do like football, although I do not understand all the rules. My team is Manchester United and, when in my twenties/thirties I regularly used to attend their matches. At school I had this dreadful crush on George Best (RIP Georgie). In fact I received something like one week's detention because I "engraved" his name on one of the school desks. Does that answer your questions?;-)

Thank you LM. Reminds me of days gone by. I never even saw him play as I was stuck in the middle of Ireland, but when he left MU I was devastated and I don't use that word lightly. The slightly curious thing was that years later he was just a few feet away from my table in a restaurant in Mayfair as he left with a beauty on his arm. I couldn't nor did I wish to say anything to him. I was glad to see him though.

well neither did I. I was still at school/living at home and my parents were poor. By the time I was working and could afford to attend matches, he had left Man. U.

Me too! Gosh I can totally relate...

A memory to treasure, I'll bet.

    • Hello.   Thanks Nigel and Hparker 😀   I've got new slots available for new students looking for a piano teacher or guitar teacher.   You could start in the new term beginning September, or I'm also available adhoc-styles through the summer holidays at times.   I teach all ages, in most styles, in lots of different ways according to how you learn/like to learn.   Give me a call or text on 07730 402336.   I have connections to lots of performance opportunities/networks too.   I run regular events /student concerts, and play in bands/perform.   Natalie.
    • So do I, but I think they are in trouble as well.  Anyway, that space wouldn't be big enough.
    • I'm not talking about Starmer. I was responding to a post which  said that  Corbyn was unelectable. How people voted in the "more hotly contested election" is irrelevant. Corbyn wasn't leading the Labour Party then. Starmer was. And the turnout for Labour reflects that.
