Well, in Jah's absence, it gives me enormous pleasure to "educate" young Matthew!

This clip doesn't exactly show his most famous goals, but I like it because it displays his fabulous footwork...oh, and I just love the way he accelerates past the other players. And also because I thought he looked even dishier in his Northern Ireland colours than he did in red. God, the man was a genius. Magnificent!

PUFF DADDY...

Is buying "Crystal Palace " football club ( apparently )

God I so hope it's true, can you imagine the "attitude"

The whole Idea thrills me no end...

Like it (soundtrack aside). What's amazing is this was the age when you were allowed to kick people about a bit. Given the advantage attackers have now and the way defenders are being so very limited in what they can do it would be amazing, although pointless admittedly, to wonder what he could do now.

Gosh...I simply cannot get enough of his genius.

Stupendous stuff!

George Best...it's all in the name.

Thank you RD.

Edited to say: I hope you are paying attention young Matthew.

Edited again because omitted to mark the 3,100th post

Still high praise indeed...especially from a City fan;-)

You are joking? Didn't you know that Rooney is Ireland's gift to England!

Good bet but they re still long shots surely. But I expect them to beat Lyon. Then who knows.

I have been to the stadium at Bordeaux - dragged wife along there on our honeymoon!) and its a great little place. They seem to be a club on the up.

Who knows they could do a Porto?

    • Hi there,  I wanted to give a big shout out to Kushy Move. An idependent letting agent on Bellendon Road. My family have used Kushy's services for more than 20years. He knows the market in this area very well. He has always found us incredible tenants promptly, and has got a fair price. He looks after our tenants and our properties well. He has always given very good advice when assessing our properites.  With so many letting and sales agents in the area (and I have dealt with a lot!), I have always found Kushy to be straight forward and no nonsense.  Highly recommended!
    • From tomorrow, 21st May at midday, Lord Biggar CBE, Regius Professor Emeritus of Moral & Pastoral Theology at Oxford University, talks with Chris Haydon and a small invited audience on PECKHAM PODCAST. This is the Professor who set out to draw up a balanced view of Empire and history but walked into a storm. "OMG, this is serious shit", said one Cambridge academic on hearing of Biggar's plan. Meet the man himself, unless of course you think this Regius Professor Emeritus should be cancelled still.
