Great to see the Reds bringing in Joe Cole (pending medical) - and that now makes it 14 players currently on Liverpool's books that were at this World Cup, and another 8 who have previously played for the Reds (Heskey, Crouch, Mark Gonzalas, Alonso, Arbeloa, Kewell, Alou Diarra, Anelka).

One more player past or present and that would represent an WC entire squad - 1/32nd of total WC representation.

Not sure about that Mick, he was egular for England and Chelsea before injury messed it up for him.

I said when it was announced he was leaving Chelsea that I'd love him to come to Liverpool, but doubted we'd get him. I'm made up he's coming, and hope it's the sort of signing that will convince others to stay.

Cole's signing is good news for 'pool especially when you consider they are not a Big 4 CL club anymore...I thought he would be nailed on to stay in Ldn and go to Spurs and play under 'arry again, but he obviously wanted more of a guarantee of first team football than being a bit part squad player like he was at Chelski...big fish small pond syndrome ;-)
I think Joe Cole is a great signing for Liverpool, for the player and the club. I'm a little gutted that he didn't come to Spurs though. He's quality with bags of talent. That is quite a coup Roy Hodgson has pulled off there. Liverpool fans should be rightly impressed with that.

Hogdson has nothing to do with signings. Its all in the hands of the man who brought in to sell the club, hence players being sold for millions and new ones brought in on a bosman. Wonder where that money is going....

Cole

(*Forgot about him in my earlier post)

Michael Owen must be gutted he didn't do another 12 months at Newcastle as he'd now be a nailed on certainty to re-join Liverpool but as it is he burnt his bridges by going over to the dark side.

Not sure Joe Cole would have come to Anfield if Rafa had been in charge - so fair play to the man who was apparently once a school PE teacher in SE22!

    • From what I have gathered from Bradbury Oak residents  I have spoken with, that at a meeting with RNIB earlier in the year, none of the residents were in favour of new build. There is the implication that rent rises are anticipated to help towards building costs. Rent is currently in the region of £300 pw - as with most sheltered housing (council and Housing Association), Since these rents also include maintenance charges, utility charges - Housing Benefit is only applicable to the actual 'rent element' per flat.
    • At the Dulwich Hill SNT meeting last night we spoke about Met. Engage. Dulwich Hill had signed up 185 households. Scheme  had been trialled in other parts of the country successfully and now the Met. Police are rolling it out, To the end of August, the Met Police had gathered 17,000 registrations which equites to 2% of households.
