Blame Ofcom, they forced Sky into a corner.

City looked like total strangers in the first half, massive improvement in the second though, after they've had a bit of time together we could be looking good. And Joe Hart did OK....

Me too. The music also seemed to be the original version which took me back to my very early MOTD viewing. I was allowed to stay up late to watch it on a Saturday but only after having gone to bed at the same time as my younger brother and then get up once he had fallen asleep (stuffing pillows under the blankets to make it look like I was still there if he woke up). I've no idea why this was necessary!

For older viewers what about that Wolves goal. It reminded me of Ernie Hunt scoring for Coventry against Everton I think. I think it was called the 'donkey kick' which was subsequently outlawed from the game. Was it Willie Carr who set him up?

PS Revenge for the stuffed pillows under the blankets did follow when I was found out. I went to bed one night only to see what looked like stuffed pillows under my blankets. Pulling them back I found our beloved flea ridden collie/sheepdog Spot looking at me. I swear he could smile.

I was pleased with the pool yesterday, and they were unlucky to conceed a horrible goal, but I'd be more concerned if I was an Arsenal supporter. The Arsenal fans in the CPT were not a happy bunch. Liverpool controlled most of the second half, with 10 men.

Real shame for Cole, who is not a dirty player, but that was a red, no doubt. It wasn't malicious, but it was a shocking challenge. Hopefully he'll come back strong.

Anyway, I take heart form that performance (which basically should have been a win), and quite like the fact everyone has totally written the pool off. Now the reds can just get on with it, and see how the season works out. Spurs and City have a lot more pressure on them right now.

    • Exactly what I said, that Corbyn's group of univeristy politics far-left back benchers would have been a disaster during Covid if they had won the election. Here you go:  BBC News - Ex-union boss McCluskey took private jet flights arranged by building firm, report finds https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cp3kgg55410o The 2019 result was considered one of the worst in living memory for Labour, not only for big swing of seats away from them but because they lost a large number of the Red-wall seats- generational Labour seats. Why? Because as Alan Johnson put it so succinctly: "Corbyn couldn't lead the working class out of a paper bag"! https://youtu.be/JikhuJjM1VM?si=oHhP6rTq4hqvYyBC
    • Agreed and in the meantime its "joe public" who has to pay through higher prices. We're talking all over the shop from food to insurance and everything in between.  And to add insult to injury they "hurt " their own voters/supporters through the actions they have taken. Sadly it gets to a stage where you start thinking about leaving London and even exiting the UK for good, but where to go????? Sad times now and ahead for at least the next 4yrs, hence why Govt and Local Authorities need to cut spending on all but essential services.  An immediate saving, all managerial and executive salaries cannot exceed and frozen at £50K Do away with the Mayor of London, the GLA and all the hanging on organisations, plus do away with borough mayors and the teams that serve them. All added beauracracy that can be dispensed with and will save £££££'s
