I think you'll find they're not from Liverpool Sean...;-)

Scut

seems to have regional variations depending where you are in Ireland. In Fermanagh it means a naughty child or someone who is mildly annoying.

"Declans child is an awful scut, he stole a chocolate bar when I wasnt looking at the shop"




I don't know how Declan ended up being implicated in all of this.
