Week in week out Citeh 'fans' sing 'Carlos Tevez is a Blue, he hates Munichs'...people in glass houses...

Putting this into perspective, lets be honest, he isn't the only one guilty of cheap point scoring, if indeed thats is what he's done. In a similar vein, the awful sectarian bile that reared its ugly head on here between Celtic and Rangers was a tad too much for me, banter is one thing, but come on people. I know we all love our teams and feel passionately about them, which sometimes leads to the red mist descending. I guess what I'm saying is, if you dish out banter, you have to expect it back, but not poisonous nasty ranting. I'll get off me soap box now.

Whilst watching my sons mates play for for Dulwich Hamlet against Whyteleafe last night (they won 2 nil), I also managed to keep an eye on the Manchester derby. Both sides were more worried about losing the game than winning it and as a result did Chelsea a big favour.

Joey Barton reverted to type, yet again, by punching Pederson, and Newcastle came back down to earth with a bump by losing at home. Scott Parkers goal was easily the goal of the night, and Blackpool were unlucky, yet again. The Arsenal got a good win, very pleased, as Molineux is not as easy place to go to and get a result these days. Fabregas should know better than to dive in on a player, especially when the player is going nowhere fast. Essiens red card was deserved and Chelsea could have won by a hat full. And so to Liverpool. What can you make of a team that only a few days previously beat the champions of England and puts in a very average shift against Wigan. On this evidence top four, let alone Champs League, will be a big ask.

Looking at their league position, I wouldn't call that progress, I would call it a big backward step. It's unfortunate but they rely far too heavily on Stevie G and Torres and when they don't perform, they're buggered. I feel for those two, and you can't help but think that they are seriously considering moving on in order to prolong their careers, or face burn out as a result of the the over reliance by the club on the both of them.

Pressure, what pressure? We're used to the pressure of challenging for the League, just like you're no doubt used to pressure of a relegation dogfight ;-)

Myopic? I don't disagree, to varying degrees that applies to most on here, although I am more than capable of seeing the bigger picture, and more than happy to contribute to non-Utd issues.

Despite the rampant myopism, I don't expect to see crass postings like BR's on the EDF. It's the sort of post you get on 606, TalkSport, etc. Despite his protestations to the contrary, his post IMO served no purpose other than to paint (unintended pun) Utd fans in an extremely bad light, otherwise why post it? There isn't a club in the country that hasn't got a number of mindless morons who support them. I could quite easily put up similar posts where Citeh/Liverpool 'fans' have sprayed Munich graffiti, sung songs etc (only last night Citeh 'fans' were singing Munich songs and waving their arms mimicing an airplane), and likewise Liverpool supporters can about Utd 'fans' and Hillsborough, but I choose not to...

Forgive me, and I'm not try to wind you up here, but aren't you trying to point score here? Surely the best way to respond to those posters that you find offensive, would be to ignore them??? Only asking

Edited as I can't spell "them" properly, d'oh!!

Forgive me, and I'm not trying to wind you up here, but coming from you that's a bit rich...to some extent we're all point scoring, even you're last post could be construed as such, and so might this reply, but there has to be a line that we don't cross. Mick Mac felt SCSB79 had crossed it with his remarks about Celtic. So to answer your question...no

PS. you missed off ing from try...1-0! ;-)

Back to the football. Only saw the second half last night but City showed no ambition whatsoever. At one stage they had 3 players attacking on the edge of the Utd box and every other City player was in their own half! For a Wolves or Birmingham etc at home to Utd you could excuse not pushing players forward and settling for a point but I expected more from City.

The fact is though that Mancini sees it as a point gained. Only 7 goals at home from 6 home league games, they may grind their way into 4th place but not sure it will be much fun to watch.

Yes indeed 1 nil, well played.

I was watching Dulwich Hamlet Youth play at Champion Hill and kept running back to the bar to watch the game on Sky, I thought neither team had much ambition.

Spot on Emerson, neither side were playing for a win, win played like an away side rather than the advantaged home team but I guess we won a cheap point ! ;-) against the Rags

Dear Red Devil, I'm sorry, I baited you after seeing the mighty Hammers give away yet another lead. I apologise I was being glib and your response was bang on.

I do like BR though, his protestations on not wasting "big money" on Rooney were effing hilarious.

Santa Cruz

Robinho

Adebayour

Milner

Barry

Kolo Toure

Lescott

Cheap at half the price.

Actually that's not really true..........

Entiitled to your views of course but not one shared by the TV pundits at the game, the newspapers

or the players from either side.

    • Since you’re clearly not experiencing what we are I’m not sure I agree with any of your points. I also asked for anyone else having a similar problem… it’s absolutely fine if you’re not but I’d appreciate less of the “go live your life”. There is no need to comment with that tone, it doesn’t provide us with any help for the matter. Nor is it polite. We’re a very kind family simply not wanting damage and don’t find the actions necessary. It’s been the same driver/delivery for a while and this never used to happen. I wouldn’t post this on the forum if it wasn’t getting so frustrating. Again, the kids and myself have kindly asked for this to stop a few times with no success. We all work hard for our living and would never want (nor are we trying) to rid someone of their livelihood. But similarly, I don’t find it fair. Please feel free to PM me if anyone has any advise or shares the same.
    • And now we have the worst labour government in many many decades who by moving to your position on the right are ushering in a far right reform government. Well done you.
    • You implied he did a good job in your first paragraph when you said you would have hated to see Corbyn lead the country through Covid - the alternative being Johnson, presumably? With the results we all saw. Unite - you have a problem with unions? Who work hard to see that their members get a fair deal in their workplace? How exactly are these people and groups "all as bad as each other"? In what way? Labour "purging their party of the far-left" has given us a weak prime minister who has apparently deserted any "left" (aka caring for other people and having decent moral principles) leanings he ever had. Which is why people appear to be leaving Labour in droves and voting, or intending to vote, Green or Lib Dem or for an independent Left candidate. Starmer has shot himself in the foot, in my opinion. But what would I know. What worked?! I don't know enough about what you are talking about to comment, but "believing" you know the reason someone did something does not make it true. I don't believe that Corbyn ever got "starstruck" or "forgot about his politics", but if you can provide evidence that those things are true, then fair enough. I don't think you can, though.
    • I think you need to get a grip If it's who I am thinking of, she's a young black girl in her twenties, has braids with bright colours through them and - I suspect - works with her father. It's always the same man behind the wheel and he's older than her, always in the same van, so I'm assuming it's a father-daughter combo which, if it is, I think is rather sweet.  They hustle hard in a job that is poorly paid, has little prospects, is relentless and thankless. The fact that they have stuck it out since the pandemic says a lot about them.  I think she's a lovely girl, who's perhaps a little shy - but she'll smile or chat back if you make the effort with her. And I admire her for sticking with that job for so long. Perhaps she's just one of these people who's naturally a bit clumsy or bashes things, the same way some people are heavy on their feet when they walk. But I wouldn't dream of jeopardising her job because she closes the slams the gate and doesn't 'kiss' the ring doorbell with her fingers.  Perhaps she's being passive aggressive because you are. And perhaps she also wishes she got to spend her time worrying about potential damage to her letterbox or her gate.  As for your gate / letterbox - you're talking about hypotheticals. Has there been any damage? No. Then go and live your life and worry about it when it happens.  (apols we have the wrong person, but some of my points still stand).
