Oh dear, can only be good for us, that and the fact that Silva, and Balotelli are both injured and won't take part in the game. Jah Lush
Not surprised. The club hasn't been the same since Alan Curbishley left. It's been one disaster after another. Feel sorry for the their fans. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/251/#findComment-487109 Share on other sites

murphy
Charlton have just got new owners which presumably has influenced things. Denis Wise tipped to take over.Palace after a new manager of course as well, can't say I enjoyed the trip to Millwall on Saturday, (always a lovely bunch down there)the players didn't show much fighting spirit in support of Burley. Beat Preston yesterday in a very poor game with Steffen Iverson getting the winner and man of the match on his debut. Not sure who I want as Palace manager. If we were in a better position would like to see Sean O'Driscoll or Eddie Howe but will settle for Sir Steve until the end of the season. kpc
Charlton have very serious financial problems. Not sure that installing Dennis Wise in any kind of managerial capacity is going to help. Emerson Crane
Dennise Wise, I can't think of a more inappropriate name for this bloke. Poor old Charlton, what have you done to deserve him. He is a tool, and no mistake, just ask the Toon. Keef
I used to go to Charlton a lot, and they're my second team. It's all gone very wrong. They dropped out of the prem in the worst possible year, and lost out on the big parachute payments. As a result, things went from bad to worse. Can't see them being anywhere near the prem again for a long time. The Valley is a lovely ground to watch a bit of football. I thought they'd turned the corner after they redeveloped the ground and got into the Prem, very sad to see whats happened to them. A few Leeds fans might disagree with you. Poyet was the brains on the training pitch. As soon as he left it all went downhill. Peckhamgatecrasher
The whole world doesn't revolve around Leeds, David. The centre of the universe is in fact at Zampa Road.As player/manager Wise was pretty good for Millwall. ruffers
From the minute by minute on the Guardian last night, Fulham vs West Brom, even has a local relevance although I nearly put it in the aspirational supermarket thread."Fulham corner. Hangeland rises well in the middle and is basically punched in the face by Carson, who misses the ball and instead clumps his huge Norwegian head. This is apparently fine though. Back down the other end West Brom carve out a glorious chance for Brunt between Dorrans and Odemwingie but mysteriously he fails to get a shot in and it's cleared. Dennis Johns is bringing down the system from the inside: "This is the most middle class thing I've ever heard anyone say: I was in Stoke Newington the other day (I wish it had been East Dulwich, but that would have been too perfect) and I heard a young lad of about 5 or 6 say to his mum, "Mummy what are baked beans?" She pondered for a moment and replied, "Well, they're a bit like gnocchi." And he accepted that."I lol'd Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/251/#findComment-487122 Share on other sites
