I'll definitely be cheering on Leeds tonight.

I think Spurs missed a trick by not playing Defoe from the start instead of Crouch. Vidic and Ferdinand pretty much snuffed him out of the game. They seem to have a lot more difficulty with the smaller type of player. When you have an old fashioned target man like Crouch it's sometimes too tempting to go for the easier option and playing a long ball up to him. I think we played into United's hands by doing that a little too often and made it easier for the United back four to deal with his aerial threat. It's not as if we've been playing like that this season either. Crouch has mostly been on the bench. I would also liked to have seen Jermaine Jenas playing instead of Wilson Palacios but I guess we needed him to win the ball in midfield.

You're not the only one Jah.

I think at Elland Road we stand a real chance. The crowd will be close to capacity and very intimidating.

The only downside is we look likely to miss Luciano 'The new Messi' Becchio, our leading scorer this season, which is a big loss. But I'd rather have him fit for the rest of the season and I can post in here more often when we go up.

Arsenal will need to show more bite than they did in the first game or against Ipswich.

Yeah, I thought the Crouch thing was a bit odd. I'm a bit of a fan of Pav as well, I would have liked to have seen him coming on. You're right about the smaller (nippier) player. Those are the types that find Ferd and Vidic out I think. Not that he's small but look how Torres tormented Vidic, he can be turned a little too easily sometimes.

as champions you mean?

I'm not sure they have what it take to win the league MM. I think the squad isn't quite there yet. I wouldn't be suprised to see them come top four next season with a couple of good signings. The atmosphere on sunday was amazing and there's a real belief that the club hasn't had for a long while as far as I can see.
It was slightly tongue in cheek SP as you seemed to be assuming they would not be champions and could improve further next year. Which is probably fair, but take nothing in life for granted. You don't often get a shock winner of the Premiership, but who would be brave enough to write them off.

Can I ask Sandperson and Jah Lush to support the Arsenals opposition for the rest of the season as they seem to have given Leeds the kiss of death last night.

Anyway, we were the better side and deservedly won the game. Le Boss team selection against Huddersfield interesting.

A good performance from the men in white last night but over 180 mins the quality and class of the Arsenal team reaped dividends. They were simply too good for too long to be contained.

Nasri is a defenders worst nightmare.

Arshavin is Wenger's worst nightmare. Shocking.

Leeds missed Becchio badly.

We might just about survive if we went up this season. Maybe.

    • Just to repeat the news I was given – it's not being converted into a pub. As far as I know, there's no intention of dumbing down their restaurant offering.  Although as others have pointed out, Camberwell has two pubs – The Camberwell Arms and now the Michelin-starred Kerfield Arms – with excellent food. The Palmerston used to be the only pub in ED that was of such quality, but sadly no longer IMHO.
    • The country is in a real state.  What worries me about the Greens is encouraging migration and openly offering benefits to all with visas.  Where is the money for that coming from?  As if there is spare money, as if there is growth. Where I their holistic manifesto, ensuring funds are available and this is sustainable, and regulated? Incredibly dangerous and idealistic

    • I disagree with the use of the word "sectarianism" in this context and Starmer is a total a*se to have introduced it. In my mind, sectarianism conjures up the hatred and vicious violence of The Troubles in Northern Ireland.  The divide between the Greens and Reform are a long way from that and is more reminiscent of a time when the two main parties actually stood for something and voting was more a matter of following one's political beliefs. Nobody called that sectarianism.
