A couple of interesting observations from the Arsenal game yesterday.

Firstly, the Bendtner goal. It was a nice touch that after all the shite he got for miss kicking what was a very difficult volley, on the full, he not only smiled about it but got the chance to have a bit of banter back with the Hudd fans after scoring.

Secondly, what a dive! If that had of been a United player certain people on this forum would have been shooting steam out of their ears and bashing their keyboard until their fingers bled.

Thirdly, that penalty run up. I'm sure there were also certain people on here who savaged Ronaldo for similar tactics with a stuttering (and possibly illegal) run-up.

Like I said before far too sensitive bordering on paranoia. I watched the fake Ronaldo and his multi millionaire buddies at Real Madrid get beaten by Osasuna last evening. And surprise surprie, because things didn't go his way, the failing arms, the rolling eyes and looks to heaven were the order of the day. Same old Chrissy boy.

Sandperson, have you ever stopped to think why people make comments about Man Ure and penalties. The alarmingly regularity with which they are either given penalties or appeals from lesser clubs are waved away, and the fact they are inexorably linked with favourable decisions, may colour such comments. Or do we ALL just make it up as we go? Jeez

Even more boring that they meet in Cup finals too. As SCSB79 pointed out, go back back to having a larger league and meeting twice a season.

Ah, Man Ure. One of my favourite of your clever little word plays. It's like Stephen Fry is on the forum. I didn't mention the regularity of penalties I mentioned the cheating of one of your players and the fact that the penalty taker took a stuttering run-up, as you would have done had the roles been reversed. Same old Arsenal....

As far as cheating is concerned, Man Ure are masters at it as we all know, as far as I'm concerned it was a legit pen, which is more than be said of those your shower are awarded. Now let it lie.

You're as bad as each other, don't try and take the higher ground. Yes Emerson / Atila is guilty of (massively) overreacting to any criticism of Arsenal, but you in particular SP, just can't sit on your hands, you always have to respond, and frankly it just makes this thread unenjoyable.

Anna didn't use it for a good while, I didn't use it for the vast majority of last season, Red Devil seems to have gone, several others hardly use it, and Quids has now gone for a while at least, and I suspect this thread had at least some part to play in that.

I'm not having a go at either of you as people, I don't know you. But please, for the love of all that is good and holy in this world, stop with the same old shite!

Secondly, what a dive! If that had of been a United player certain people on this forum would have been shooting steam out of their ears and bashing their keyboard until their fingers bled.

Same old sad paranoid, put upon, nobody likes us, the worlds against us, Sanperson.

I hear you Keef but Atila digs at everyone, especially if you support Man Utd or Spurs. If there were any Chelsea fans on here they'd be a target too as they are the three clubs he hates the most. Basically he's a cunt and the main reason people don't post on here anymore and why I am also seriously thinking of quitting too. He was supposed to be banned and as far as I can see he still hasn't learnt his lesson.

I know Jah, I'm not saying it's just between Atila and SP, but SP does seem to get off on winding him up further, then acting all wounded.

I have defended Atila before, and I'm not doing that now. When he came back, I thought he was making an effort to play nice, but that has gone out of the window. I am not putting SP in the same category, but if I was as volatile as Atila, SP would have me spitting deathers too.

Anyway, that's all from me.

Anything interesting happening in the transfer market (too many people hanging around for me to look at the BBC website).

They are not as bad as each other. Emerson/Atila is the clear troll who constantly uses antagonistic posts.

Your suggestion is that people sit on their hands? From what I see most of the time people don't respond but sometimes react to the bait or dare mention something about Arsenal. The solution is not to for people sit on their hands, (too many are doing that already by not contributing to the thread) or to criticise people for occasionally responding to Emerson's bait. The solution is to ban Emerson.

    • Just to repeat the news I was given – it's not being converted into a pub. As far as I know, there's no intention of dumbing down their restaurant offering.  Although as others have pointed out, Camberwell has two pubs – The Camberwell Arms and now the Michelin-starred Kerfield Arms – with excellent food. The Palmerston used to be the only pub in ED that was of such quality, but sadly no longer IMHO.
    • The country is in a real state.  What worries me about the Greens is encouraging migration and openly offering benefits to all with visas.  Where is the money for that coming from?  As if there is spare money, as if there is growth. Where I their holistic manifesto, ensuring funds are available and this is sustainable, and regulated? Incredibly dangerous and idealistic

    • I disagree with the use of the word "sectarianism" in this context and Starmer is a total a*se to have introduced it. In my mind, sectarianism conjures up the hatred and vicious violence of The Troubles in Northern Ireland.  The divide between the Greens and Reform are a long way from that and is more reminiscent of a time when the two main parties actually stood for something and voting was more a matter of following one's political beliefs. Nobody called that sectarianism.
