Emerson Crane
Stoke boss Tony Pulis believes Demba Ba is an accident waiting to happen after West Ham agreed a three-and-a-half-year deal for the Senegal striker. Ba's ?7.1m move to Stoke collapsed when he failed a medical because of a knee injury, and Pulis said he could not have gone through with the deal in good faith. No sour grapes there then. Emerson Crane
Everton striker Victor Anichebe has settled out of court with Newcastle after instigating legal action over a tackle from Kevin Nolan in 2009 that left him sidelined for 11 months.Interesting development, wonder how many other players may follow suit. kpc
I wondered how much of a risk West Ham were taking given Stoke had turned him down because of his knee problem, but if he continues with his 'shoot on sight'* policy, should go a long way towards saving West Ham. And yes, Pulis is probably bitter about a couple of results going against him of late.* insert cheap Ashley Cole joke of choice here. ????
Did you ever go up their old place KPC?..that was fun. And they were ever the same, Kamara broke McAvennie's leg first game of the season when we were up there once, nasty on and off the pitch. kpc
God yes. Kicked off every time. The dark days of the early nineties in the old third division - Macari had left Blues for Stoke and took four players with him - a lot of bad feeling around that time. Too many players carrying knocks for too long and today was a very bad day at the office (cliche no.33 in a series of...). Rumours we are prepared to throw our FAC QF at home against Bolton next week (obviously not official rumours).Wigan yep. Wolves and Blackburn the other two. ????
Blackburn were 30 to be relegated 2 weeks ago...I was so tempted. Very tight down there but we look a different team although we've a tough run in...I feel strangely optomistic. Wigan, Blackpool, ????? Jah Lush
You Hammers fans should beware of Tottenham Hotspur losing to Wolves tomorrow. These are the sort of fixtures that are our particular type of banana skin especially as some of the players may well be thinking about the AC Milan game next week. Obviously, I'm sincerely hoping we win both but I know only too well what we're like. Narnia
I think you underestimate Wolves JL. I think they've been good for a lot of the season without getting the results they deserved. citizenED
Good to see that, according to the BBC website, Rooney decided to administer his own punsishment for that latest act of thuggery; "Last month Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney went unpunished by referee Mark Clattenburg after appearing to elbow Wayne Rooney for elbowing Wigan's James McCarthy." citizenED
After Arsenal dropping two points yesterday it looked like being a disappointing weekend and then England pipped SA in THAT amazing match and I've just returned home to see the Liverpool result which means that ours was more like a point gained. Sandperson
Yeah, great stuff from Liverpool. Some great performances and they really seem to be on the up with the new manager. I think United have now lost enough of their momentum for Arsenal to take the league this season. Especially with the two run-ins.
