Agree with SJ. Chelsea players decide which manager they want to play for and which one they dont.

New managers can get results otta, but more important perhaps is that Abramovich has warned them to perform or get out.

Why Di Matteo allowed JT to instruct the team from the sidelies shows problems lie ahead. Any new Chelsea manager has to conquer JT before he can have real control.

Absolutely disagree. As Otta says - who would give up the chase for titles and cups eg the premiership - not the longstanding likes of Terry, Cole, Lamps etc. Also, would the newer signings go along with it all eg Luiz and Torres (he can't score anyway).

Dimatteo is an ex teammate and JT was his Captain - its a close relationship, everyone was pulling together.

The Chelsea haters make me laugh - play rubbish and we are after getting the manager the tin tack/play well and as a team and this proves we wanted the manager sacked.Don't be jealous.

Hmm - I'd say some players have too MUCH pride. It's clear from JT's press conference ("Roman" ???!) and the way he was directing from the rouchline last night that he sees himself as "the man".

I don't know about letting results run against them, but at the top level, we see players not give 100% and it affects the team and results all the time

Before last night's game it was widely discussed about the toxic power in Chelsea's dressing room. So yes, a memorable night, an exciting match, a fantastic result are all true. But the problems at Chelsea (and any club that has had so many managers, at such cost DOES have major problems) won't go away just because of last night

CSKA Fulham represent everthing thats bad about the modern game, from the oligarch that owns the club down to the theatrics of that big Jessie Drogba, covering his eyes with his hands and peeking through his fingers to make sure he got his foul. Unfortunately, you were caught on camera chump. Let's hope you get turned inside out by either Barca, Real or Bayern. Small club in Fulham, you're just a small club in Fulham!!!B) Can't wait for the oil mafiosi to drop them when he grows tired of his plaything, and leaves with all those overpaid geriatrics on your payroll. Another Rangers in the making?

Much as your relentless negativity about everything in the world that doesn't involve Finsbury Park Rovers or Lionel Messi tends to grind me down PD, I have to say I entirely agree with you on this one.

I've seriously fallen out of love with the upper echelons of my beloved sport, but I reserve a special loathing for all that Chelsea represents and the part it has played in the corruption of the sport (and lets face it, it predates Abrmamovich, Bate's and his posthumous comments about Harding may well have started it for me).

:-$ Aw shucks. Go on then, Luton Town, tell us why don't you?

2 parts growing up near there, the place just gave me the heebie-jeebies.

1 part West Ham bogey-team (much less so in recent years, but memories are long).

Woking and Stevenage (my other team) had some mighty ding-dongs and crunch matches over the years, though again, Stevenage have moved on for the time being.

Ok fair play to you.

If ever we needed reminding that European football is gaining ground on us, and in the case of Spain surpassing us, last nights games were a timely reminder. Bilbao were brilliant, and I hope they go on to win the thing. Excellent display by them and Ferguson gracious in defeat. Well done.

Not being keen on Luton.....

er...Mine's much more practical. A semi-final defeat in theLeague Cup and a 1/4 in the FA Cup 2 seasons later. Plus getting beat by Liverpool on the plastic in 1986 when my memory seems to remember they hadn't lost for ages.

Personally I hate Chelsea and always have - pure tribalism admiitedly, hated them when they were crap too but now they've the worst kind of sloaney newbie fans bar non.

I like my hatreds in Football - Spuds, Chelsea and 'wall

PS Apologies Maxxi think I sent you this as a pm by mistake

Seconded, Bilbao were excellent and a joy to watch.

When their full back did those 3 step overs in the Utd box, even I wanted him to score.

I'm sure all the big european clubs will be circling over Bilbao this summer.

Their fans were brilliant at OT and last night also very gracious by giving Giggs a standing ovation when he was substituted.

I hope they go on to win it too...

    • And from what I remember, she eventually cut the tea shop for a similar  reason to chandelier.  Chariot style buggies
    • Oh yes, it could have been about there, I can't remember exactly. At one point there seemed to be a load of pizza places opening on NCR. I vaguely remember the one we used to use was put out of business by another one which opened. Wasn't Grace and Favour's food offering more of a tea shop at the back of the actual shop? If memory serves the owner, whose name escapes me now, was one of the earliest people I know to move to Hastings. Which must now be crammed with South East Londoners 🤣

    • Hi Dogkennelhillbilly, You won't be aware that i proposed infill sites for housing in East Dulwich - the garages on Bassano Street and Henslowe that respectively became 1-4 Dill Terrace family houses and the 78, 80, 80A Henslowe Street family houses. These were council owned garages and it was frustrating how slow the council was to go from my idea to completion (roughly eight years). East Dulwich has some other vacant WW2 bomb sites I'm guessing that the private land owners have been sitting on.Owe for a land tax for vacant land.  WRT to the builders yard by East dulwich station. Southwark Council has an agreed policy the area should remain suburban 2/3 storeys maximum. But the approved scheme is 9 storeys of student accommodation. Very hard to put this genie back in the bottle. The council has recently publicly stated lower ratios of social housing will be required. I will be amazed if the developer doesn't submit another application now they have the 9 storeys approved but with significantly less social housing. The less social housing the higher the land values. The higher the land values the less social housing viability reports state are possible.  If we really want to increase home supply - Southwark have over 6,000 empty homes. Vancouver charges a low % of the value of empty homes and rapidly eased this problem. Parts of Wales have introduced under Article 4 planning permission is required for second homes seeing within 12 months a dramatic decrease in property prices. Southwark Council have Article 4 requirements - why not add this one? It takes National political will to solve this AND regional and local authorities such as the second home council tax premium and these being used promptly.
