Haven't heard such jealousy fuelled pony since Mr Abramovich bought the club. A team has been built which is far better than the light blue notherners buying every player in sight just so other clubs cant buy them, and have no intention of playing them. Anyway, Up the Blues, good win today.

Abramovich and his ilk are bad for football, sooner he goes on to other things the better.

Fabrice Muamba is howing small signs of improvement according to Sky, breathing on his own and small signs of movement in his limbs. Here's hoping and praying for a full and speedy recovery.

Great night of football, City turn over the Chavs, Spuds draw and the Arsenal win and go above them agftrr being 10 points behind. Mind the gap indeed. ;-) And where to start with Liverpool? I bet Hodgson is having a quiet chuckle to himself. And more importantly Fabrice Muamba is getting better, please god.
The race to the premiership title and champions league places is getting exciting. Interesting to see if Spurs get fourth place over Chelsea and sets up nicely for their clash this weekend. Man City appears to have some fight in their belly and I'd expect the title race to go to the wire.

Fans allegencies at this time of the season can get notoriously complicated.

The fans cheering the Citeh goals may well have been Chelsea/Utd haters, but they also might have been Arsenal/Spurs fans wanting Chelsea to lose more than Citeh winning, because of the Champs League situation.

When two of Utd's rivals are playing each other I tend to hope for a draw, that way both teams drop points.

It's not always that easy though, when Citeh and Liverpool played in the recent Carling Cup semi, a draw was never going to happen, someone had to go through, so it came down to which team did I want to lose the most, rather than wanting one of them to win ;-)

Don't think so - there was little/no reaction when the Arsenal and Spurs latest scores came on screen and the ManC cheers had definite joy in them rather than schadenfreude (it's all in the "Yuuuuueeeessss!!!!!") - they all seemed pretty happy about Tevez's set-up too ("He's back! He's back!!").

I don't think City fans have come out of the woodwork at all - I still find them pretty rare in London in comparison to Utd fans.

The worst I found for coming out of the woodwork were Chelsea fans when Abramovich brought the club. Suddenly the world and his dog were Chelsea fans. I also partly blame Tim Lovejoy for this as well ;-)

Love that Otta. B)

If that doesn't fit the profile of a 'glory hunter' I don't know what does ;-)

To be fair, I think this applies to any club that has a degree of success, success of course being relative. I'm sure during and after their recent FA Cup exploits there were more Stevenage fans walking around the town centre in their club's shirt, sharing in the civic pride.

????'s is right to suspect there will be more Citeh shirts on view in the future, success = glory hunters, it's more to do with human nature rather than specific clubs.

    • Hi, I went to the council's planning portal to look at the application, and I encourage others to look at it. It looks like a pleasant building, with thoughtful landscaping. as Pugwash said, the big oak would be retained, only two smaller trees are supposed to be cut, one of which is already dead according to the Tree Survey. It sounds like 38 people in great need of it will gain supported housing thanks to this development, a very positive change. Of course a solution has to be found for the 3 who will need to find other accommodation during the works, but that doesn't seem enough of a reason to oppose the development. The current building is 4 stories, so I would be surprised if one extra storey was considered objectionable, especially considering the big oak stands between the building and the neighbours' back gardens and the fact that the neighbours it's backing onto are all 5 stories houses themselves or only have blank walls facing the building. In the context where affordable housing is sorely missing, a 100% supported housing development is great news. Personally I've never seen a less objectionable planning request
